Okay, so first things first.....my knowledge of My little Pony is between little and none, so I had to get references of the characters to get them right and I hope that I gave them justice. Since I was an 80's child, I grew up with the wiring of MLP was an cartoon for girls and Transformers was for boys. Times change and generations change and now we have the term "Bronies" (apologies if this names offends anyone) But I still have the mental wiring of it being a girls show and why i just cannot get into it. Perhaps I'll check out an episode.
now , onto the commission, this is one of a set of commissions of the MLP characters in Human form. Not sure about what the text at the bottom is suppose to mean, It was just part of the commission request. All in all, I liked how this one came out and I got it right on the 1st attempt. I hope everyone likes it. this one is just the 1st one.

It's still a show for little kids. Exploring the ideals of sharing, working together, solving problems. It has musical numbers and the whole nine. It's not the second coming, and to honest it's only so-so at best.
I have no idea what the obsession with this how is with older people...
The color scheme really begs for a "softer" audience. Everything is pastel colors, very light and colorful. So I dunno if the "for little girls" thing holds water, but it certainly not something people who like dark colors are going to enjoy.
I cranked through the entire first season and just really do not care for the show. I don't care about the characters, their problems, or what happens to them. They have an inconsistent story and no actual plot. Again. Children's show. It's not exactly a "complex piece of work".
Also, I have never bet a brony I've liked. Sorry all you "but you haven't met me" people. I just can't get along with'em.

I have Bronie friends (good peoples) When they are into other things that I am familliar with (game of thrones, JLA, Fighting games, etc) But when they start talking MLP, its like they are speaking Greek to me. and I'm like......
Plus you say there is SINGING in this show?.............think I may be out....is there singing in all the episodes?

There's singing in about 1 out of 5 episodes. However, the songs are catchy as hell, and actually help move the plot. There's no "I am sad song that takes up 5 minutes because the writers are lazy". They even make comments when a pony breaks into song sometimes.
It's not for everyone, but I would suggested something from season 1 if you're looking to give it a try. My personal favorite is S1 Ep25

When a song comes up, it's a warm welcome. Unlike the older generations of MLP where they're cringe worthy, this version of MLP is written by professional song writer Danial Ingram. There's clever word play and the tunes are catchy. The only song that made me feel uneasy was sung by John de Lancie about getting a glass of water.
Frankly, I don't care about that show, and it is in fact a girl's show. Like you, I have little to no knowledge to go on except the constant commercials about it. From that, it is most definitely a girl's show. The reason guys like it and are called bronies, I think that's mostly their attempt to build a gender specific grouping of fans. That reason I find completely pointless. If people like a show designed for a specific gender audience, and your of the opposite gender, why not just say that you just like it instead of just forcibly labeling the opposite gender group like that?
Side note: Even though this pic based on from that girly show, still a hot woman is a hot woman.

No, I think Brony refers to the fact that most male audience members (those ABOVE 20) are bros towards one another, so to speak, not just labeling them. Now, I don't know about your experiences, but most bronies I know generally say they like, no, love the show. I, personally, could never get into it, but that don't mean I don't like the show.
Above 20? I pretty much heard about the term in highschool. And there was this one guy (a sophomore) openly calling himself a brony. He tried to convince one of my friends that the show was actually rather graphic (sexual situations) and used abortion jokes in it. I knew the moron was lying because why would the whole innocent doll franchise be graphic as an actual cartoon? It was basically the lamest attempt to get people to actually watch the show.
Well, he was an asshole, wasn't he? Like I said, my general experiences with bronies has been that the ones I know aren't crazy (except for those who are legit friends of mine), and are nice people. On top of that, they don't go around saying "The show's graphic, you should watch it."
very awesome
and I can totally understand your point on not getting the pony hype. lol
thing is it's actually a really good show. the writers focused MUCH more on personality, entertainment and just flat out storytelling than just making something mushy and girly.
it may appear as girl drivel during opening credits, but trust me, it breaks expectations pretty fuckin' hard.

Not only did you do her justice, it was great justice. As for trying out the show, I would suggest trying at least three episodes, since just one will hardly give you a fair appraisal of the series if you stumble upon a bad one, or one with a theme you don't like. If you don't mind singing all that much I would suggest season 4 episode 12 Pinkie Pride, which has Weird Al Yankovic. If you like dry humor and awkward silences, I would suggest season 4 episode 18 Maude Pie. If you like superheroes and hammy plots/dialogue, I would suggest season 4 episode 6 Power Ponies. If you like John DeLancie (Q from Star Trek), I would suggest season 3 episode 10 Keep Calm and Flutter On. If you like time travel and seeing a nerd freak out, I would suggest season 2 episode 20 It's about time. It's always nice to see someone try something new and step outside their comfort zone.
The words below the pictures are what said character represents.
When I had seen the pilot episode- each of the main pony cast represented what was called 'The Elements of Harmony'. These are apparently powerful amulets and representations of what makes a true friend. I'm writing out my interpretation of the main characters for you for their worded reps.
Applejack represents Honesty- As she is a hard-working and has a tell-it-like-it-is attitude. She is sweet and very motherly to a lot of her friends but she is not afraid to dish out a little tough love. She's a country girl and works at her family's farm 'Sweet Apple Acres', where they have a massive apple orchard.
Fluttershy represents Kindness- She is soft-spoken and a little bit of a doormat, but she does not let that make her any less sweet to everyone, as she believes a little kindness goes a long way. She basically takes care of all animals and communicates best with them. Even bears and wolves like her. Think of 'Snow White', but a little bit more..um..wimpy.
Pinkie Pie represents Laughter- She is a pranker and jokester, the least serious of the group, and..well..a little wacky. Though she is a bit over-eager as a class-clown type, she's still there for her friends to try and make them smile when they need it. She also is a friggin party animal. She works for a bakery called 'Sugar Cube Corner', and has an obsession with delicious sweets..which would explain more of her hyperactive and ADD like behavior.
Rarity represents Generosity- She was given Generosity because she made a small sacrifice to help another. To be quite honest, when you see her in the rest of the seasons, she's a bit of a diva. Though with her friends, she's willing to do favors for them if it would help. She's a fashionista and a dressmaker, and has a deep love of sparkly gemstones and fabulous fabrics.
Rainbow Dash represents Loyalty- RD is overly-athletic and competitive, and stubborn as hell. She seems like a bit of a female jock, but is surprisingly willing to learn new things. Sometimes she weighs out her own needs first before her friends, but in the end she always chooses her friends. She works in town helping coordinate other Pegasi ponies and rounding up clouds and coordinating weather.
Twilight Sparkle represents Magic, the combination of all the elements- Twilight was a student to Princess Celestia, the alicorn ruling over their land. She's very logical and approaches situations with a hypothesis and theory. She's very book-smart and a little bit socially inept at first. She's the glue that holds the group together, and her knowledge over magic trumps almost all others. She lived and worked at the Library, but in the most recent of seasons, she's been turned into an alicorn after completing her schooling. She is now the princess of friendship as she discovered the secret to breaking an almost impossible spell that nearly destroyed her group's bond.

If you do decide to give it a chance, start with Season 1 and watch the first 2 episodes. The next several episodes can be watched in almost any order, but you should really see the season openers. Of course it all boils down to personal preference, if you don't like it, oh well. Great pic by the way.
I like your spin on something from a girls show. This I can work with with. But I have friends who are Bronies. And I tell them the same thing. "The only ponies I care about are the ones pulling the Budweiser " http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/im.....oto-poster.jpg
Applejack is, at her core, firm in her beliefs and not liable to change them. On the flipside, she can be extremely stubborn when it comes to her own independence, to the point that she tries to to all the farm work herself when her brother gets injured, despite offers of help from all of her friends. Applejack represents one aspect of friendship called Honesty, and it shows in her ability to both own up to her mistakes, and tell when people aren't being entirely honest with her friends, herself, or themselves.
If you want an episode that best describes her, I'm afraid I can't help there. It's been a while since I've gone over teh episodes, so I can't rightly recall which ones showcase her the best, at least not their names and episode numbers.
