Personal opinion - auction would make it a competition between people to buy into it. Though if it's a one time auction it's one paycheck.
Though if it's something like a limited time only commission with a set theme, have it at a set price, people may buy that more if say it's
a summer themed swimsuit commission(extra characters cost extra). And heck, throw a YCH auction with the summer theme that has one of
your characters posing with the winner's character.
