With a competitive streak a mile wide and a legendary Irish temper to back it up, Kelly is a girl who refuses to accept that she can't accomplish something if she really wants to. When the boys back home in Johto said she couldn't ride a skateboard, she proved them wrong. When her two older brothers said she couldn't beat them in a straight-up fight, she proved them both wrong (the hard way). So when she said that she wanted to follow them in attending the famous PokeCombat Academy, the words "no you can't" never found their way into the discussion.
After a year and a half of fighting as an independant, Kelly decided she needed to join up wit a team to really prove what she was capable of. However, she soon found out that getting onto a team that had any kind of credibility wasn't very easy. After hopping on and off three teams in the latter half of her sophomore year, Kelly was about to give up on the idea until she received an invitation out of the blue to join up with Team Touge.
Recognizing the team as one with a high reputation, she accepted without a second thought. But now, caught up in the middle of spiteful team politics and doing whatever she can just to keep their immoral leader from getting the whole lot of them thrown out of the school, Kelly's wishing she'd given it that second thought after all...

Actually, it's just Sally and her boy toy/team alternate Kevin that are the troublemakers. Kelly and Sakon (the younger brother of the former leader) are attempting to minimize the damage they're doing, but no thanks to Sally's dirty dealings there's actually very little they can do, which has Sakon nothing short of enraged. And right in the center is Canyon, who's more or less staying as far away from all of it as possible since he doesn't want to end up taking sides. Needless to say, there isn't much in the way of a team dynamic anymore.
A bit too late for both of those (Sally's pretty much ruined the team's rep and Kelly doesn't have any team transfer credits left), so all she can really do now is try and keep her friend Sakon settled down until Sally either graduates or finally gets kicked out of the school. Which is a major task in and of itself...
