I backed up everything and anything with all my firefox settings, just did an install over top of my old version, everything worked fine, All my bookmarks transferred over, along with all my saved passwords, the only thing that decided to stop working was a couple of sites that I have set to auto-login (Furaffinity, Livejournal) So I guess some cookies aren't transferred, but it takes all of 5 seconds to sign in again, then it works perfectly fine after that.
Oh and a couple of my extensions stopped working, but they were ones I never used anyway. ;) So ALL GOOD! <3 <3 <3 Its a bunch faster too. Go for it, you can always downgrade if you don't like it. :P

The reasons a couple extensions stopped working was they aren't Firefox 3.0 compatible (which was expected.) As for the cookies, dunno why my login ones didn't work, but it took all of 5 seconds to go to the sites and log back in. ;) So nothing major.
(btw, I'm an Extension whore, I have about 7 of em right now, once the 3 that weren't working get patched/updated I'll be back up to 10.) I also have about 6 or 7 of them that are disabled because I decided I didn't use them anymore. XD

Well, I don't use bookmarking. I have an HTML page with all my links on it, because that way all my bookmarks are shared between browsers. That's a must for me, since I switch browsers constantly. Since I'm a highly organized person, it doesn't surprise me that I'm still doing things the Netscape way.
Actually, that's what ticks me off the most about all these new browsers. Despite the massive cry for standards compliance, Firefox is the only one with decent debugging and reporting tools for developers, and even Firefox has some major design faults and relies almost exclusively on 3rd-party developers to provide web development tools. Even with Firebug, making JavaScript is a real pain.
OK, so we have the casual market sewn up. What are you giving the geeks besides plugins to download YouTube videos and send the latest Diggs to everyone and your dog?

The problem I have is that particular cookies that are apparently very important to sites I enter passwords are always set to expire the very moment they get set.
As a result, I always have to log back into these sites every time I restart FireFox. This includes FA, YouTube, and well, any site that has a password on it. It's a very peculiar bug.

It seems a very common bug, I'll be trying to make a new Firefox profile later, and migrating my stuff over to see if that helps.

They said making a new profile fixed it, so after work today I'll be trying the same thing. ^^

I'd highly suggest trying what I posted in the above comment... It fixed it for me! The only thing I had to do was re-install my extensions. I copied the bookmark, passwords, dictionary, autocomplete, and cookies files to the new profile, All my data was basically copied right over to the new profile, and my cookies aren't expiring when I close the browser anymore.
Must have been a glitch when upgrading from 2.0 to 3.0, something didn't get converted properly/was partially corrupt.
:) Its a good idea to print out the information so you can follow step by step (and I suggest after restoring each file, or extension, to close the browser, open it up again, and test the login, to make sure the file you just restored wasn't the one causing problems.) I did it with each one, and each extension and I'm good again. Gonna delete my old 'default' profile now since its now useless.

I'm loving version 3 (waiting for someone to make a theme that makes the XP version look like the default OSX version so it'll look the same on both of my partitions, though).
Wait, what the fuck, people still use IE? What, do they bang rocks together to make fire in their caves, too?

It runs way more smoothly both in starting up, and in page generation and running scripts - it's got the lowest overhead of any browser out there now :3
I grabbed it as soon as it was available - installed - found out that not only were a few of my add-ons incompadable with the new version - but they also screwed it up in interesting ways - had to uninstall the whole thing, extensions and all, then re-install it. After that it worked fine, and with the new in-browser add-on finder it took me all of 5 min to replace my dozen or so favorite add-ons, either with their new versions or viable replacements.

You know what you did to me Firefox? NOT WORK. If you weren't so popular and usefull for others out there, I'd have to take you out back and shoot you, and then you'd be replace, vaguely, as if nothing happened to you, like with the Quick bunny (wasn't his name Quickie? XD ) and Chip from Cookie Crisp!
......nope. I can't use things that don't work like that. Compaq (as I'm poor and don't know how to customize my own). I'd load it up, it'd look pretty, then everything from under the menu tab to the status bar would jiggly jaggle. NO ONE believed me, so, I had to vid it and put it up on Youtub as proof. No matter what version I tried, it always did the same thing. Besides, I can't stand the lag the thing uses when I save pics. I'm an Opera user thanks to Firefox =3
There are a few knicks Opera has and some Flash-based things seem to not synch up, but it's a hell of a lot more reliable then Firefox (at least, for me anyways). I don't know if Opera has a save vid application (as I know Ff has it), but I never bothered to research that one. But I still rate Opera a 8/10 while Ff personally has to be a 2/10
