I was approached by
HewyLewis asking me if I was interested in designing Mirage's daughter.
I refused.
Ever since I was little, I never viewed Mirage and Phasir as a couple. Maybe as colleagues, but that's it. My opinion hasn't changed.
But what if...
The idea kept bugging me. So I mellowed out, seeked the guy out and agreed to give it a shot. He basically gave me Carte Blanche (remember, Hewy?).
It was obvious that Mirage's daughter (what name were you gonna give her, Hewy?) was gonna be a cat-girl. A human version would've been somewhat unrecognizable and would've taken WAY too much explaining. But this wasn't so easy. The easiest thing would've been to have made a Mirage-clone, but with key different wardrobe and younger-looking, but that's not my style. Let's see what makes the daughter unique... and what makes Phasir relevant...
-She has one working eye, with the other one concealed. Who knows why. (Much to my surprise, there's another Egyptian-esque cat-girl very similar in design to Mirage on dA with an eyepatch).
-Her snout is a bit longer than Mirage's (Phasir's side of the family).
-She's taller (again, Phasir's side of the family. You should've seen how tall his brother was!).
-Wavy hair (Phasir's).
-Tail (why not? Jewelry inspired by Pharaonic accessories).
-Uses staff (take a good look at it, but not too close! Guess whose is that from...).
-Her wardrobe not only has Egyptian themes, but also mixes Arabic and maybe even Persian styling cues. I could've gone overboard with accessories, but went with a more cleaner look.
Whatever ideas
HewyLewis has for her story as well as her personality, there's one important detail I'd personally like to point out that Hewy can use if he wants to: Unlike Mirage, her daughter doesn't need to pull strings to appear young (I never believed she was immortal), she IS young. That (vague) sense of immortality -as well as train of thought- that youth gives makes her far more dangerous than her mother. I wouldn't be surprised if she preferred hand-2-hand combat (it's the reason why I didn't give her a skirt).
Since the sketch wasn't specified to be a reference sheet, I added a little humor to it. Think of it more like concept art.
Hope you all like it. Especially you, Hewy.
