Sculpt I am working on... feeling sortof "meh" about it at the moment but its not for anything upcoming for work so thats fine since I have time to mess with it. I have been meaning to address this sort of face type/face shape for a while but either didn't have time or didn't have inspiration- but thanks to a few kicks in the ass in terms of inspiration I decide to crack into it this week while Im taking some time off before starting this month's stuff. It will go somewhere, but its been a VERY long time since Ive done scales and I am being reminded quickly why that is: I'm not terribly good at it! Thats ok, just gonna take time.
This face is designed to have a fluffy fur or actual feather hood mounted to it,or maybe sometimes Fleece- so theres a lip to accommodate that... not going to make the same mistake I did long long ago that resulted in burning the crap out of myself with the hot glue gun.

The scales look really nice. I think the only thing that bugs me (and I say only like changing this wouldn't require a shitload of work, but I bet it would) is the slope of the face. That comes down to personal taste, of course, but I feel like if you're going more dino-like, it would do with a broader muzzle and more of a slope over the forehead. As it is, it still reads as more of a mask than a truly separate creature.
That said, it's more or less PERFECT for an argonian. So, either way you look at it, it's great work! :D

Thanks for the thoughtful crit! The thing is that I am combining anatomies- I always work in human features into what Im doing so the slope isnt really a concern for me personally, haveing some stop sorta works for where Im going, but Im mostly annoyed with the eyebrows I think, they're making me unhappy- but I have solution I'm going to try and see how that goes. Bonus though is that what I have in mind may create the illusion of greater slope via how it guides the eye, but with the virtue of not bulking out the face so we'll see.
