Yes, these things are a bit scary. This lady ended up in my kitchen late at night somehow, and I had to catch her in a tupperware container to save her from my cats (and to save my cats' noses from her pinchers...). Interesting creatures. The females can bite very viciously, but the males with much larger pinchers can't make any amount of force with them.
This is about the largest female or male that I'd ever seen--she was four inches long and a bit from pinchers to wingtips. They're usually not much more than three inches.
