the coat: me and farelle decited after i did a sketch that the coat needs to be awsum to make this a wonderful piece. I looked at some fanticy pieces and saw alot of beeds and gold work but no real theme or flow. SO i decited that As a pirate i would need a theme for the coat. so "Where the fire meets the sea" was where i started. i used a purple as the bace color becouse of 2 things . one there is more then enugh red in the picture so the red coat as we normaly see was not gonna work. and second If i wanted to be in a picture with the grate purple wolf i will need to be where SOME purple.
the back ground: I decited insted of showing my lack of skill at drawing a ship i would draw the sea. this is a wonderful setting for her. as well as a settel hint at pirate, yes there is a skull and cross bones inthe setting sun as well as blood in the watter and driping off the background frame. these settal things you may have missed says pirate insted of buckenear.

Well I think creatively, you put a lot of great thought into the creation of the coat. Upon reading your reasons for making it as it is, it makes perfect sense. ^^!! The design is excellent. The circular view of the sea is also a very interesting way to do a background, as it was in your last forrest pic. One thing I will say though, is that the shin down to her feet look too skinny. I think if you beefed up the shin down to the ankle, it might seem less drastic when compared with the rest of her body. Other than that, I think this is a wonderful work. Fantastic job!
