i couldn't help it, i had characters in mind and i can't keep them all so, here they are, as adopts. the lineart is from :devireviolence:

SAME nautical things are my jam! I grew up around boats and the ocean eheh. But uh-- I don't know that's a really tough decision for me. I legitimately love everything about #5's design (it's extremely aesthetically pleasing to my eyes), and we saw ways that #5 and #8 correlate to each other in a few ways. To us, #5 looks like a sailor and #8 looks like a shipwreck victim (the lines on #5's back look like a ship's planks, and then #8's looks like they got splintered (like a shipwreck) -- #5 has an anchor and then #8 looks like it could've lost its anchor at some point -- the orange in #5 is a warm color that ties it in with #8's sickly brown -- #5's cheeks make it look rosy and healthy and #8 just looks... like a ghost!). And there are countless other little details (#8's legs look muddy like he's metaphorically sloshing around on the ocean floor, #5's are clean and he's the color of the ocean's surface/the sky, ECT ahh I look into things FAR too much!!). So a design with those same details would be wanted.
I'm sure I'd love whatever you might design-- but we'd accidentally started making comparisons and linking these designs together (eheh I think my rambling made that clear...). I don't want it to sound like I'm asking you to rip off #5 or something ;m; so I don't know whether to say "yes" or "no"...
But in any case-- my friend loves #8's design so much I will send you the $3 regardless (SORRY to flipflop on you so much ;A; we just found you and really love your designs ahhh).

i grew up close to the beach and the piers as well; i know how you feel about nautical things, trust me!
i LOVE the colors on number 5 and i didn't want to sell them but, i do need money and i guess the person really loved him;
i wouldn't be ripping him off but i could make something similar, for sure! i was going to do the same for myself, considering i do love those color combos. something similar was on my mind.

well then! I'll take you up on the offer. We're both really excited - we'll give 'em backstory and make them integral characters and everything (we're suit makers and originally wanted to make 'em into fursuits as well so we'll see about that!) ;w; also sorry for all of the trouble, yeesh!
