The evening rolls in around the shipyard a distant sea breeze coming in to slowly cool the warm air beating down upon the current shift workers before they're off for the weekend. However this time there would be a little event, a small past time to accompany the joys of a free weekend the weekly container crush done personally not by a machine but something much bigger!
They all gather around money in hand as Elle prepares the next container for the evening, toes wiggling all the while as she prepares to preform.
"Hey Bill think you're gonna win tonight? Or are you still stuck on what happened last week?"
"Shut up Joe she clearly cheated last week! and you know it! I'm gonna get my money back this week just you wait!"
The coworkers conversation would soon be interrupted by a tell tale thud the ground shuddering with each step as the living compactor herself steps up to the plate container already in hand.
"Alright boys you know the drill but for all you 'newcomers' out there how many stomps do you think I'll have to take before the container is flat? Throw out a number and if I stomp that many times you win the pot for tonight!"
The numbers are cast and the container is lined up a few foolhardy newbies standing a bit to close for their own good probably taking dares from the veteran workers to get up close and personal with her toes.
Not that they stuck around when the container started crumpling like a soda can...
Another wonderful color sketch done by
T-Bone depicting another activity of the Silverport Shipyard not that anyone in the picture would admit to it!
