It's Princess Kurda from the Redwall Book "Triss". She's been popping up here on FA lately so I decided to do a quick sketch of her. She's cute, she's pretty, she's a bitch. She's also depicted as being left-pawed in one of the sketches in the book.

You're probably right, but I'm not sure the long neck thing would work with my drawing style. She's certainly depicted with a long neck in her sketches in the book. I don't think it's ever stated that she's left handed, but the sketch of her at the beginning of Chapter 1 has her holding her sword in her left paw.
I'm sure he was asked why he wrote his characters this way, but I never looked up any interviews with him so I can't provide and answer. I loved his stories and his characters so I always let this part slide. I feel like his idea that certain creatures are just born bad is a very 'old world' way of thinking, and maybe that's where it comes from.
