We Ride the Skies Illustration
Ha! Here it is just as I promised. Sorry it took so long, I was getting picky with some last minute editing.
Anyway, this is an illustration for my poem, of the same name, which was posted yesterday: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1382721/ Please read it, please do.
The header is a snippet from the original poem of course and the illustration is from Fox McCloud's stanza.
I feel like I owe some people an explanation, several explanations in fact.
First of all, the presence of General Pepper... He wasn't a pilot, this is true, but this isn't an Arwing mission, is it? I'd imagine he is a sort of ambassador or diplomat accompanying team Starfox. He winds up in the same trouble as them however. Pepper is a mystery to me, I don't know that much about him except he usually seems to give the missions to the team...
Anyway, onto the next query: Falco... He's not really to blame for much of this, even so he feels very guilty. His 'familiarity' aforementioned in the previous submission, with the planet was that he was in fact an escaped 'criminal' from the planet. He escaped many years ago and the turmoil of the planet kept officials from pursueing him. Falco feels that its his fault the team is in its predicament, but that's not true. The team is being prosecuted because of its attempts to restore peace, the fact that Falco is in league with them and that he's a convict only heightens their sentence, but his absence would not have removed it. Even so Falco feels terrible. Clouds Parted hardly makes things better when he forces him to watch as his friends are tortured before the Restoration. He is then forced into a chamber with Fox as the Restoration begins. When and why Falco became wanted all those years ago is still a mystery. Falco is the first to succumb to "Complete Restoration" by which I mean he becomes an egg again.
Fox clutches Falco's egg and hopes against hope for something, anything to save Falco.
Another thing, Peppy's presence, I know he left in one of the games, can't remember which, but this story must be taking place after the events of "Starfox Adventures," but before Peppy leaves.
Now, the absence of Slippy and Krystal, they are here, they did accompany them, but they weren't captured. They're basically the team's only hope for survival.
The events are out of order, mind, and the regression is hardly mentioned at all. I am fond of the picture though, comments are welcome.
The rest of the story has yet to be written, but I found that this method of storytelling is fun and effective. I may continue this with another poem and another illustration soon.
But before that I must finish several people's Requests.

I don't know. As a general he's likely to be useful in this situation, he may have offered to go with them.
I don't know what his tactics would be, but he's bound to be a good diplomat, but if the other side of the negotiation has no intention of ending the violence... Then we'd have a problem. It's a bit odd that Pepper didn't take any reinforcements with him, maybe he thought he wouldn't need them.
Boy was he wrong.

Daww...for all their bickering, I guess they do worry about one another...well, Fox does...Falco's view is a tad unknown what with being an egg....still, they have a chance with Krystal, so as soon...
Wait,Slippy too?...
Uh.,..Well, guess they could start enjoy the new chance they've got....<,,<

Actually if Krystal and Slippy don't save them soon... We'd be outta luck. They aren't being given a second chance, they're being held as criminals and 'Restoration,' nice as it sounds... Is actually quite terrifying.
Slippy's more useful than you think, but I have to agree that Krystal is their best bet.

I hope they get saved, I mean either having too re-grow up as second class citizens, or more or going “poof” as some would call, neither sound like very good fates… Makes you a wonder if Starwolf will get involved.. very good picture though ^^ and I did like the poem, the explanations help
Thanks, I'm sure Slippy could come up with an invention to return them to their older selves, but he and Krystal have to save them first, of course. As for Wolf... He's busy at the moment with another matter. I actually have three Starfox stories itching to get up on FA. Two of which involve AR.
I appreciate the compliments and I'm glad to hear that the explanations were helpful.

Now is the purpose of doing this to kill Fox and Falco or to restore them so they can begin their lives over again? I'm not sure why they chose this method either way.
If they wanted to kill Fox and Falco, there are HUNDREDS of other methods just as torturing as this. There are also many more painful ways to finish them off; regression wasn't really necessary.
If they wanted to restore Fox and Falco, then they wouldn't have to return them to such a young state...well at least with Falco anyway. If restoration and starting their lives over was the purpose, then Fox is fine just the way he is. But Falco wouldn't have to be reverted back to an egg.
But yeah...oh, and another thing.
You added comments by General Pepper and Peppy Hare in the poem. Does that mean they're getting regressed too?
Could you please get on here and answer these questions for me.
I'm trying to get as much of a grip on this as I can; I just want to understand it fully.

I thank you for your interest. It truly is a good feeling to know that someone is taking such an interest in one of my stories.
But I must beg your pardon, I can't answer everything tonight. I WILL get an answer to you tomorrow, I promise.
By the way, you are BoltroBankai from DA aren't you? Sorry, but I have to make sure.

I'm sorry, I need to point out a VERY SERIOUS flaw here.
You said that this takes place after the events of Starfox Adventures, correct? But what strikes me is that you made their clothes the ones they wear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The seperation between these is...oh...6 years?
Shouldn't they be wearing their clothes from Adventures itself, or at least Assault?

All I can say is... Artistic License. I was drawing from a reference for their clothing articles- And at any rate, does the Super Smash Bros. Brawl design really have a set place in the Starfox timeline?
Also, characters don't always have to wear the same clothes- do they?
Sorry if I sound defensive- but it IS my story.
It amazes me that you were able to recognize the clothing with this vague of a view, you really are a serious fan! But- is this that serious of a problem?
