Dungeons and Dumb Asses
So, this takes a bit of explaining.
I find a fairly old sketchbook containing chibi versions of some old friends of mine.
About 4 years ago, i went to a place named job corp to get training in a field (Computer tech, didn't really learn anything...), but i was a part of a group of 'cool nerds' that occasionally played Dungeons and Dragons weekly, usually we switch who'd DM and such.
We had some in depth discussions on what class we'd each be in the DnD world. I'll refrain from using real names and stick to either nicknames we gave each other or a pseudonym
From left to right:
Goomba: He was big, tall, bearish type of guy, but he loved nature a lot. and giving big ol hugs..and punches. (I had a major crush on him), So he was the Druid. (half elf). We joked that he'd have a wolf as a companion. He promptly named him Dog.
Big J: He definitely was a tough guy, burly, but still a bit chubby. He didn't like to read (though he would and memorize everything in one go), and only got angry if someone insulted his family or close friends. He became the Barbarian. (half-orc, he wanted the strength bonuses if we ever did a campaign)
Maltos: Oh dear lord, out of everyone in the group, he was a tad on the annoying side, but he also was incredibly loyal. In Job corp, he was an incredible salesman, and made more money buying old tech, fixing it up, and selling it back for a huge profit. He did have a knack of cheering everyone up and improving our all around attitude in class, so he was the Bard (gnome...and incredibly greedy as well)
Juice: Don't ask why his nickname was Juice, he never explained why he was nicknamed that. He was hyperactive, a bit crude, and didn't like being called a nerd or a geek, but he was technology gifted for sure. He was also great at finding lost objects and finding the quickest way in or out of places, but was a bit on the lazy side. We dubbed him the Ranger (human). an inside joke we had was that he had a Panther animal companion, but he never could (or wanted to) find her.
# The smartest, most cunning guy in our group hands down. he always had 50 different plans that he claimed he could set in motion within 24 hours. most of which sounded far-fetched, but plausible in a sense. He was also a tad paranoid at times, but his entire life was...very bat shit insane. He also had a habit of sneaking around and surprising you from behind...or from the side...or from in front of you...Thus, the rouge (human)
and finally, we come to me.
Back in Job corp, I was called Skip, just my last named shortened to the first syllable. (I know, basic but effective). I did feel intimidated by the group at first, but my uncanny ability to listen and give advice made me an apparent great asset. Plus my punny humor and ability to diffuse some tense situations, they dubbed me the Priest (Elf). I'm...also kind of afraid of the undead....seriously...
TL;DR:
Goomba the Half-Elf Druid
Big-J the Orc Barbarian
Maltos the Gnome Bard
Juice the Human Ranger
R.J. the human Rouge
Skip the Elf Priest
this old sketchbook definitely inspires me to draw more of these guys. (plus there are...comics in here i wanna redraw and share aha)
