and for those Japanese things.....eh I didn't get them either....nor do I really want to either, because I view most anime as annoying, except for Ghibli and Angel's Egg which has a majesty and feels a lot more mature due to the lack of weird style changes, screamy matches, overly large googly eyes, obnoxious J-pop and gooey girls as fan service....yeah I might sound a tad biased, but I don't like most mainstream anime....that and bullying by some really immature weeaboos has put me off it x_x

and well its not that I hate anime (actually I do really hate some anime....like Evangellion and some really horrific ones), but its the fact that this group of people were just being really snooty about it x_x

I can relate to that. I did like the Evangelion manga... I've also tried Gundam, but... oh lord, that was awful!

And with being snooty... I'll have you know: one of my favorite anime is Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds. Not because there's a deep meaning behind it... but because I'm probably the only person to see a deep meaning in it.

well I think the problem with Evangelion is that everyone is depressed (especially Shinji) and that, while he gets better in the middle of the season, he soon just drops back to his emo state.....never liked Eva, probably never will watch it again. I just love Ghibli over most other anime :p

And...I haven't heard of that anime. I know Yu-Gi-Oh is about cards and monsters.....and really silly looking hair....and that's all I know about :O

Silly hair? ..... yeah, quite... but I think the seasons of it are interesting

Season Zero: Has barely anything to do with cards
Season One: Well there's cards, and a plot revolving around the game...
Yugioh GX: The worst THING I've ever seen! It promotes stupidity and being a slacker, while disrepecting people with dreams and ambitions!
Yugioh 5Ds: One of the best animes I've seen. People like to joke how it's a show about people playing cards on motorcycles, but just watching the first episode already made it clear to me that this show is about more than that and it is. I would argue that the most comparable thing to it was Season Zero, but less nightmarish things and more about friends fighting together against the forces of evil... and it's not even like people wanting world domination...

BUT I doubt it's something for everyone, still I like how Yusei, the hero of 5Ds only has some sad breakdown once or twice in the entire run of the show and always just someone slaps him and he gets back on his toes.

I see....I had only vague idea of what it was. When I saw it as a kid I thought it looked silly next to my fav. TV shows (Gargoyles, Duck Tails and Red-Wall) after all next to giant adventures with Scrooge McDuck, epic stories with Gargoyles and a giant battle against a horde of vicious rats in Redwall, weird looking people who look like kids but might older playing card games and with weird monsters seemed a bit....strange.

This was during the time when I knew nothing about anime....I knew more about Native Americans :p

And truth be told, a lot of the shows really are what they look like... I just think that Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds was more than it seemed like, but it really might have not been the type of entertainment meant for small children being excited about action. NOT FOR EVERYONE, but I personally really like it and everytime I hear someone obnoxiously scream:
CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES!!!!!

I just want to punch them cause the show is really so rich that it doesn't deserve easy punches like that!
