Not unusual. The Japanese do tend to send their sumo wrestlers to US territories to bulk up and train. Godzilla coming here and getting fat is just a continuation of this long established tradition. Besides the guy's like a billion and sixty? He can't be expected to kill monsters and smash cities like he's always done. Big guy had to take that breather after he killed those two monsters before going for his trademark post-devastation ocean swim. It ain't easy being king of the monsters.

i know the movie is 6 years old now but he isnt fat as a lot of godzillas bato (1980-90s) and shodai (1940-50s) era granted smaller had thicker guts and thighs with fat rolls. godzilla from the kriyu (2000) era is the skinniest godzilla.

I will have to check them out!

btw sorry for the old comment long ago i was a dumb ass not thinking back in 2014 a lot of people who didnt godzilla or japan godzilla purists said hes too fat and sucked as a godzilla the movie is eh or fine but he is a true godzilla depictio.
