I've always thought fursonas and avatars were the most fun way to represent how folks feel, on the inside, or in an ideal fantasy world. "Gravewalker" has been with me a very long time now, and is ever changing. Splitting off into different ideas, colors and characters. Every time being a bit of me, and a whole lot more of something else. True inspiration and emotion is the best way I can describe it.
I try to be honest with everyone I meet, but not as often to myself. Lately, 'Gravey' has been pushing me for a change again. (It's been the last 2 years or so I suppose?) My free spirit and love of all things small and forgotten has been tugging at me to let loose and show itself more. The nature bug has got me again too, and I'm gonna thank new music loves and a beautiful summer on that! Not sure where I gained the love/curiosity for nature transformation(?) but it's seriously enjoyable to draw!
Gravey and my other felid character "Sun" are Faerie cats, though it's not mentioned much! Tremendously shy, but great listeners, they're slow, and careful, and always caring for the little things. Gravey has much more adventure in her blood though, and often ventures as far as she can, before running home again! And occasionally stopping to feel..or be! Her surroundings!
Colored pencils, done on the same page as the carousel cat Gravey!

I know this may be inappropriate but...as much as I love the picture... (and it looks amazing! Don't get me wrong)... the explanation what your characters mean to you just took the cake, this came off as a very deep insight into your own personality and I'm pretty sure that from now on I'll see all of your characters in a completely different light. And the picture itself sfbsdgdsgpgwg I'm so torn on what I should compliment you more D:
Awh wow thank you! I've been selective about how much I usually say in a description cause well, not many folks really read them. But last night while I was processing this from the scan I just really wanted to say something about my avatar for once. So thank youu! It means a lot to me!
It's a very beautiful piece, but I also love the description of your character and her motives/mannerisms. I enjoy her somewhat tree nymph like nature, yet has a free spirited, rebellious side in that she tries to shed her inner shyness that is common among her race. I've always enjoyed these nature meldings between animal and plant, it's very cool and a great design.
I have to agree in seeing a fursona as a reflection of someone or their ideal identity in a fictional setting is a great way to describe it. That's my views on it as well, the creative, interactive side of someone in something extra-ordinary.
