Something for me. :)
Haven't picked up colored pencils in quite some time, and I've been sick of my art for a while. I needed more flights of fantasy in my life, and a return to what makes me smile. Rats are my current pets (Doozer and Ratchet), Lilacs for my hometown, wings and stars for how far I wish I could fly.
Wurlitzer music defined the summers of my childhood, as I lived near Seabreeze park - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MCWRkoYKfw If you've never heard one they're damn loud! But the most cheerful music you'll ever hear! This guy made some fantastic recordings of them, and I just can't be sad listening to them!

I believe it's part of the charm, almost like that of Alice in Wonderland a dream cum nightmare sort of take, at least that's how I remember it being explained to me. I was fortunate too as a child in riding old Victorian steam carousels on a fairly regular basis at various fetes and shows, it's something which certainly sticks with you
Oh man... I love the old mechanical players like Wurlitzers. They had such a unique sound to them, and ohhhhhh boy, yes - they are pretty damn loud, heh. Only the really old fairs would have them, or folks who had restored them. It's really cool that you got to experience that growing up because they were already pretty rare at my age, and I'm a lot older than you! Great tribute picture too. :)
