It was in the US I think, since it has a english dub. But it's from the 80-90's so it's a while ago since it aired.

I remember this from the comic strip... Which was so beautifully stylized. Philosophical horse, she is... and one of my favorite designs ever. "You always think your first love is your last and your last love your first."
Tove Jansson in general is just perfect. My sister does all her plays with a piece of paper somewhere in the theater (family superstition) with the "A Theater is the most important house" quote.
