Charon was forced to be the co-Alpha of Mausadeim's Pact, by a blood-contract, even though in different species, being a pact as being the co-alpha barley have no free will at all, but mostly suggest that Charon are just spiritually bound in servitude to Mausa being the Alpha. In knowing that, Mausadeim also took part in that to using the last ounces of his resistances into keeping Charon's family, his mate and unborn child, into his threat if he ever disobeyed Mausadeim's orders.
Charon had witnesses the very lowest pits of Manas life under the torturement of Mausadeim's wrath. Unable to help between his family in stake as well the forced blood-contract bond he has to the Alpha, as long as he keeps breathing, Charon was unable to do anything but watch helplessly. As long a Mana stayed alive, was all Charon cared about, as he holds her fragile body in his arms. Her body, filthy, as her dress, knowing she hated to wear, was ripped into a mess. The mere sight of her ruined clothing and her despair look in her eyes in self-disgust clearly written on her face, bringing out a anguish growl from Charon on Mausadeim's recent attack. Snarling as silently as he could as he kept whispering to her, helplessly, that she has to stay alive to see the days without Mausa's damned soul burned forever in the pits of hell as well in promising her to help keep the abandoned egg she found in the ditch, safe as she desperately, unaware, clutching onto within her arms. Her empty stare of hopelessness grew Charon so anguish as he fought the urge to rip Mausadeim apart; keeping his hold on Mana as gentle as he could as he carried her back to the damned place, to the demon alpha himself, as if giving him the offering, the thought pissed him off so bad, Charon had to stop couple times along the way to calm down for Mana's sake. As long as she's still alive is all it counts, sadly, he wont be able to help her unless, Mausadeim want her dead, he couldn't risk his family's lives unless was the duty to protect Mana's life alive.
Finally, when he whispered that he would help properly train her to fight, as actually shown the spark of life in her body in the jolt of shock that rippled through her body. She looked up at him in amazement, life filled her eyes again was all that Charon needed to confirm, that one day, Mana was bound for greatness, maybe able to kill Mausadeim in the future in his place as she wasn't forcefully bound to him spiritually, yet. Charon will train her to become the fiercely warrior she deserved to be, to take back to what was lost, to kill him in his place and to help his family through her into breaking free of his bindings to the damn creature he loathed and longed to kill.
If one day Mausadeim were to try to kill her, Charon would risk everything to save her, thats what his mate will want, and would understand that he have to protect her as she was their savior. Too important than his own life, to be wasted away. Charon, knew spiritually with all his being, that Mana was too important to die.
