This is the first of the two pair of fanart i've worked for the third book of the Named series. Ratha and the Thistlechaser.
I've greatly enjoyed the book for a number of things, especially the ending. I like sometimes bittersweet ending (as could have been the first two books), but a true warming and happy ending is sometimes much welcomed (especially because i was thrilled and in fear that was going to happens something during the last pages and i was very relieved).
The books themselves have a number of fun scenes. I've picked this one (with Thistlechaser forcing Thakur to roll on dung to cover his smell) enlarging a bit because in the book Aree is spared by Thakur himself.... here i've drawn the little treeling escaping just as she get a sniff at it...
(PS: it's strange how i keep experimenting different things with fanart about this series: usually i don't draw black eye surrounded by the proper colour of the eye, more often i did main colour surrounded by white).
