Father's Day Pic for 2014
I was late for Mother's Day so I wanted to be on time for Father's Day this year. So it's my adorable little munchkin Mischa and her daddy playing in the water at the beach, although it seems that someone has just about had enough of the cold water for now LOL. Mischa crawled onto her daddy's shoulders and I don't think she has any plans on coming down for now, she's holding on rather tight there!
Father's Day has always been a rather difficult holiday for me to deal with in the past since I grew up without a father in my life. But I realized as I got older that it didn't have to focus on depression and loss as I used to treat it. I want to be a wife and a mother one day, and I realized that there are plenty of other positive associations with the holiday than just focusing on what I never had. So that's why I am trying to make it a tradition to work on pics of Morin and Mischa together on this holiday because the thought of being his wife in the future and mother of his children, make me look forward to seeing the wonderful father that he will become. <3

ETA: Bah! Forgot a few things LOL. I finally gave Morin the buff bod his fursona is supposed to have. XD I tend to neglect things like muscle tone when I draw him cause I just see him as a cuddly snuggly wuff and forget that he's actually a rather gorgeous man as well. LOL
Also... omg that water. >> I spent hours trying to figure out how to get it "just right" and it's still not there. But it's good enough, so please don't nit pick on the water's appearance. I'm doing that enough for everyone. ^^;

Yes LOL.
I'm planning on 3 "types" if baby pics for the IA: Flashbacks, Love Child, and General Pics.
So drawing a character as a baby would be a "flashback" one. Then general pics are just pics of characters who are already babies. And then "love child" is taking 2 characters and me making up a baby of theirs. I will be taking on ones between friends, but both people will have to comment to add permission before I do one with 2 different people's characters. ^^

I do too! I love pics of babies on their own, but when it's pics of babies with their parents, there's such a different feel to the whole pic. Like any baby pic is adorable, but there's a real warmth and love that comes from seeing them interacting with their parents. That's what I try to capture each time I draw Mischa with her family ^^

Guess on one day day I really need to define the look of my little bear's step parents as well. Something I never really did. I've decided that they are lynxes, because I adore this critters almost as much as I love bears. That they love their little adoptive cub to bits, try to give him everything he needs and put up with a lot of his playful, innocent mischief and accidents due to his slight naivete of youth (kids are like that).
But I've never placed them into a picture yet, only in the little background stories I love to write. Only his step brother and their plushies (who are reacting to scenes in a cute "Calvin & Hobbes" way).
But seeing your pictures ... maybe that's something I should do one day. ^^
