A disturbance in the Force
Uncovered this while packing up stuff, I drew up this back in 94 when the Brady Bill was about to go into effect. I used a character featured in a running series I had called A Slice of Life, Hoss Williams,
I have no love for Bill and Hillary. Sue me.
Scanned and presented, and will toss in the burn bin. I see no reason for keeping my art.

From Wikipedia:
"The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (Pub.L. 103–159, 107 Stat. 1536, enacted November 30, 1993), commonly called the Brady Law, is an Act of the United States Congress that instituted federal background checks on firearm purchasers in the United States.
It was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 30, 1993, and went into effect on February 28, 1994."

The Brady act was begun by REAGAN and finally signed into law by Clinton.
It's actual effectiveness was questioned a great deal, and that is one of the biggest reasons it was allowed to expire.
Now Alex Jones and Larry Pratt claim Obama is training our military to target the Tea Party.
The "Obama's goner take away are gunz!" is the same hysterics who whined and screamed about the Clintons.
Long on accusations and innuendoes, very short on facts.

Nice dodge that doesn't fly.
All legislation that is not passed in a particular session of congress must be re-introduced in the next session.
The Brady bill was re-introduced in 1993, They did not have to re-introduce it, but they did. It was signed into law that same year. Clinton could have vetoed it, but did not.
Clinton most certainly DID put new gun laws into place.

The Dems paid dearly for supporting that "Ominibus Crime Bill" and remain gun-shy to this day in most states.
Clinton also used his executive powers to ban importation of military firearms and ammo from China. Before that, one could get an unissued SKS for under $100 and a 1000 rounds of ammo for it @ $100. IIRC, it was because he was upset with the Chicoms for stealing our military secrets.
Steel-cored military surplus ammo from former combloc countries also banned from importation. Claims were made that it was armor-piercing, but most centerfire rifle ammo will punch through body armor anyway. And if you believe the environmentalists, steel is supposedly more "green" than lead.
Likewise, Obama won't allow surplus M1 rifles and M1 carbines to be brought back into the US from S. Korea

I'm sorry, this is planet earth and you are in the timeline that Bill Clinton signed into law the Brady Bill and the Federal Assault Weapons Ban. You may need to sync up your multiverse transporter to send you back to the universe you originated from cuz your history doesn't match ours. Clinton overreached his authority using executive orders to ban many types of weapons. The Clinton Administration was all about gun control no matter how unconstitutional it ended up being. The Clintons were so batshit insane over guns and gun control they initiated the Waco debacle to enforce their gun control laws in the stupidest way possible. A lot of people died over that bit of work.
Obama has used back door tactics to control who has access to guns through disregarding privacy laws to allow background checks. Other legislation hasn't passed through congress but it hasn't been through a lack of trying.

No sir, I never was a fan of Hill/Billy.
In Connecticut, our Socialist Governor has used the Sandy Hook travesty -- I mean (of course) tragedy -- as an excuse to re-enact the '94 ban, and then some. I had to register my AR-15 lower receiver (not much choice, they already knew I had it) and all my more'n-10-round magazines.
Tangentially, Norman Rockwell used to give away or reuse the canvases for his Saturday Evening Post cover art.
