I had planned on doing this on the computer but it was going too slowly. Also, I wanted to try a marker/colored pencil combo. I've seen some beautiful artwork with that combination of media and I just HAD to try it myself. I need to get some /real/ markers though.. Some Prismas or something. The markers I used are about 7 years old and are not fancy by any means. Oh well, they get the job done.
This looks SO much better in person. Argh!

YAY! Vaporeon!!! <3 That's such a cute pose and I love how realistic it looks!! You know, Prismas are fun (and way too expensive) but I like how these markers look in your picture. The streaky texture actually looks cool with the colored pencil and it adds to the depth the way you contoured the lines :D *dork*

Aww thanks!! Hmm, maybe I should keep these markers around. I do need new ones though. I only have a few good colors left from past years. I have to say, I love colored pencil + marker combos, particularly because its easier to control the highlights, and they can be more dramatic.
Haha those islands confused me. I was on them for quite some time but I forgot where I went afterwards :(
