This is a little preview of June 30th's comic, just because I'm working on it and liked this panel. I have a new comic every Monday(http://www.kennychronicles.com and FA), and I try to keep a 4 week buffer. I normally ink everything with real ink, including the lettering. I'm transitioning to 100% digital, but my goal is to have the digital stuff look INDISTINGUISHABLE from ink. I think I have the brush settings down well. Right now, I'm inking the lettering digitally(starting with June 30th), but I'm not using fonts. I don't like typed word bubbles. Hand-lettered, yet 100% digital. Lettering's the hardest thing to ink(with quill) due to line direction and size, but it's the easiest to ink with a Wacom stylus. This will give me great practice while easing the transition.

Well, THAT is real ink. So far I'm only inking the letters digitally. Basically I mentioned the digital inking because the words weren't inked yet, plus this is sort of a time capsule post to show when the transition to digital was.
Looking back at that post, I guess I didn't make it very clear that the digital stuff was the next step on this panel.
Now... the second panel in this comic, IT will be 100% digital, including a hand.

You can set the opacity to be controlled by the pen pressure, but I prefer to have full-black, mainly for when this will eventually be printed in a book. When I'm adjusting the levels in scans, I'm trying to get that full-black anyway. Mostly, my goal will be to keep the line quality and rough edges, but get fuller blacks and not mess with stuff that comes with traditional media.
