I do this montage for honor the memory of all people who died or fighted on the french territory and mostly in Normandy during WWII.I'm really sorry, I just had pictures of two germans cemetery and of the american cemetery of St-Laurant/mer but this's not because there not on this picture I don't have any gratitude for all the other foreign soldiers who came in France and in a lot of other occupied Europeans countries like british, canadians, dutchs, polish and of a lot of other nationalities. On this picture, I don't want up the allies to the first place, I just would say there are also germans, that's not because the german governement was nazi all germans weret' nazi, it's the contrary! For exemple, I can take the White Rose. Like I read that somewhere (I don't remember where, sorry):
"The History is the propaganda of the winners".
Behind every soldier there is a men and I reproach to some americains movies like some russians movies to make of the "losers of this war", germans or japaneses, a monster without any heart, without any emotions but fortunately, there are some other movies like "Letters from Iwo Jima" or "Valkyrie" (I take most famous of them) who build an other image of their "losers" but it's also true there are some ugly things which was commited by the soldiers of the axis but we always speak about the massacres of Ouradour/Glanes, Vassieux-en-Vercors, Auschwitz, Nankin... I can't say
that don't exist (I prefer we talk about that than we talk about the new tv-serie) but we don't talk so much about the missed bombardements over France effectued by the RAF and by the USAAF, the massive destruction of German's cities, or the number of civilians compared and the number of militaries at Hiroshima and at Nagasaki the 6 and 9 August 1945.
For an other exemple, in my departement (departement of the Vienne, France) during the Summer 1944 more of 50% of the strafings
of the USAAF were effectued over french people, civilians like resistants, and allies called that "collateral damages". I don't reproach to allies the fact that they effectued their strafings on bad vehicules, that not easy to identify the nationality of a car, but the fact they do not assume correctly the death of all that people who are with allies.
But we musn't forget, in a war there are not good and not evils, there are just people who die for the behalf of some politicians.
A war it's always ugly.

Thank you for this posting. Let's remember our history and take it as a basing to know, what we can do (or prevent) to build a better future for everyone in this world.
Paw, Claws, Hoofs, Hands, Feet - all joined together in the circle of friends & humanity.
-> Peace!
I love "Imagine" by John Lennon.
And "A Perfect Circle" made a wonderful cover of it.

Same if I'm far to be be a pacifist, I'm agree with you about a world of peace. I've already saw too many people die, same if it wasn't the fault of violence, that learned me what is it to lost someone, it's very hard. Personally, I would join the Air Force of my country but there is one thing which scared me, is the fact I could kill people, I really hope I never have to do that.
When I went in Normandy, I visited the cemetery of La Cambe where there is a little building of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge where there are letters from some soldiers in Normandy (canadians, british, germans, americans, frenchs) and we can see the desire of peace of there mens, you really see who there are, I learn there, there are germans soldiers who help french civilians under the ruins of their houses the 6 june 1944 after allied bombings and more, my great-father always told me the germans were not the barbarians from americans films, they were very correct and good with the population but a lot of french were heinous versus germans...

War is a brute force approach to solving a certain problem. Sometimes, it is necessary since the subtleties of diplomacy don't work well.
The TV Series M*A*S*H put it best, though, I think.
In war, there are 2 rules.
Rule #1 is that people die.
Rule #2 is that no one can change rule #1.
Can't think of much more to say, except to say in bad phonetic Russian: Vechnoya pomyo.

Unfortunately, when you go at war, you're lost forever, if you're not killed, you're injured physically and mentally. I've got a great uncle who did the Indochina war, I never know him but I know he made nightmares every nights, Into his dreams, he do again this war, he saw his friends be killed and killed other people, is one of the worst thing you could see.
