he looks amazing. wouldn't mind seeing the front of him as well, see how the rest of his armor looks like, it looks good from this side. Can't wait to see it all come together :)

Still exploring the coloring/saturation of his skin (would only take a sec to do as the layer that colors his skin green is separate from the values layer), thinking a bit more saturated green than this, but I think I might be being too self-critical here.

well it's hard to critize yourself and be happy with your own work. I can't really give any constructive critique here. I wouldn't be to say what you might improve on. I do know that i like what i am seeing and think it's greatly detailed ^^

You're right about that, I've been flip-flopping with what I wanted from my OCs here, like if Oto would be an adult or a child in the pic (went with child as I'm still on the fence about Oto's adult design), or if Cliff's earlier incarnation should be included as well (tried to add him -- but I only sketched Oto and Sekur (as I only planned for those two to be in the pic), and quickly found that there was NO space to include him that wouldn't cramp the canvas, so I had to begrudgingly omit him), or that I wanted Sekur to be even bigger than this (backed off because a friend who constantly helps critique my works said Sekur would be very inflexible and immobile if I made him any bulkier -- and he is already quite beefy as is). (Yes, I do love big orcs -- but you probably knew that from the macro orc pic I made. >.>)

I'm happy with many things I did so far, namely Sekur's skin composition and the metal of his axe. I'm still very unsatisfied with a lot of other details like the awkward head/neck placement and his leather belt. But this pic is so many months old now that at this point I just want to actually finish it and move on to a new project, so I probably won't correct them.

well, it's a good reminder of what not to do next time, the placement of the neck and such. Each project you do is a learning experiance. I love the overal broadness of Sekur. He feels so big, like a big teddybear, intimidating as a warrior, but a sweetheart if you're not the one he's aiming for to kill ^^. And the thing with his belt, it kind of reminds me of some of the world of warcraft belts. i can't really discribe it but some of them are wider on the front and slimmer on the back. Also i loved your orc macro submission. It made me want to have a big orc all to myself even more then i already wanted one ^^ both him and Sekur would make good cuddle buddies

TBH, I did base his belt on the WoW belts, I always liked how it made orcs and tauren appear even bulkier when worn. And I also based it on the WoD Orgrim Doomhammer concept art from their recent Blizzcon premiere. Although many wrestlers have those kind of belts too, in real life.

The other orc (the macro orc) is one of my friend's main WoW character who goes by Korghal. Not sure if he and Sekur would pair well they're both adults ... It's one thing that he cuddles Oto because Oto is usually a toddler/young child when Sekur adopts him in the settings that involve this. But it would be very, very awkward for two full-sized male orcs to be seen cuddling if you're thinking what I THINK you're thinking. >.>

But more to the point; Sekur is straight in most of his incarnations, so I doubt he'd find himself in that situation. In fact, in the super hero story I keep mentioning, Sekur is already a biological father by the time the overall story even begins when he adopts Oto (he does not know of his legacy as he broke up with the mother about a year before he adopted Oto, and he won't even meet her and their child for several years).

This is, of course something I will definitely need to explain in greater detail when I get around to making Sekur's reference page.

BTW, I have at least 3 different incarnations of all three of my OCs so far (and a fourth Warcraft-universe incarnation for Sekur); some are past incarnations of themselves -- others are completely separate entities; largely to explore different settings and themes with them (and one of them actually does involves Sekur being Bi).

i was more thinking along the line of i would love to cuddle either sekur or the marco from you other submission ^^ and you were thinking about what i was thinking. and it depends i guess of the orcs themselves if it's awkward or not. A big guy being all sweet and cuddly every now and then is quite cute. but it depends on the person. not every orc is the same. Just because Sekur isn't gay doesn't mean i don't want to know more about him. Plus i figured this wasn't THAT sort of post ^^ but that is what makes it more fun to fantisize about him :)

I said it before and i'll say it again. I'd love to see what it is what you are going to do with him.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I really do not mind if you (or anyone else) fantasize my OCs like that, as long as they at least respect how I want my characters (and that my canon story will come first).

I'm just being paranoid that people will invoke the "Bowser Effect" (where most people draw him solely for fetish fuel) and ruin my OCs for myself. (Even went as far as to consider making minor OCs with much more ambiguous backgrounds to serve as fetish bait to take some of the interest from that crowd off of my main OCs)

i'm just going to see where YOU are going with this. I have my own characters to do with as i see fit ^^ the only one that isn't mine is hellboy, but that is because he's awsome. apart from him i'd never use somone else's characters. unless i get permission. but not everything has to be fetishized.
