Ya know, a bunch of my buddies and I were talking about 4e today, and one of them was offering to run a Crushed: The Doomed Kitty D&D game (not using the canon PCs, but using the same setting and the same "rocks fall and you die" style of gameplay.).

There was actually a comic like this in an old (OLD OLD) Dragon Magazine, in 1st Edition times. The panel shows a halfling and dwarf standing by a door, with three sets of feet (belonging to people laying on the floor) poking onto the panel behind them.

"And that's why I'm not afraid of ballista traps."

This is why the tank always goes first* and also why you carry a bloody great shield. Alternatively, strap a dwarf/halfling/gnome to your arm if shields are in short supply. Is that a rogue at the back? Shouldn't she be looking for traps before they go off? Or did they just bring her along because she's got a crackin' pair of boobs?
