A little prep work for the 'Queen of Summer' contest; as well as some inbetween exercises in drawing as I work on other important things as well such as commissions.

Playing a few RPGS lately I decided to start dabbling in bishoujo type drawings. You know; anime like female characters with big eyes, stylized hair and fairly large heads. XD
Also appearing pretty sexy at the same time. And...with hints of yuri sprinkled in there.

I ran a poll on Deviantart asking which of my Angels would people like to see for the Queen of Summer Contest. Shining Wolf was chosen; so she will compete alongside Dark Shikoku who competed last year; and had a surprising lead over Lizzy McDinga for a bit.

The thing is because one is dark, the other is light I kind of have these two form a relationship. It could be a straight up lesbian one; but in the comic which they will be featured it'll be only hinted at and subtle. I can't really tell as an American how friendship is expressed in Japanese culture; but I'd like to study up on its customs sometime.

Dark Shikoku is a Shikoku Inu for those who don't know. She of course hails from Japan and shadow is her element. Shining Wolf is from England and her element is light. Hence the contrast in the two. I think it's their different elements that has them form a close bond.

Yeah the hand holding seems to suggest its more than friendship. ;D But I was going for the bishoujo look; so sprinkling hints of yuri in there is to be expected.
It's like when people draw two guys bishonen; hints of yaoi are sprinkled in there too.
