Reading your description reminded me of the Pokémon world B.A. (before Arceus), when Arceus was added, it took so much praise away from the Pokémon I believe is the rightful god of the Pokémon world. (I also believe with the right characters personality, a shiny Mew could be a badass, kicking butt, taking names, maybe even trying to save the universe from an Arceus severely corrupted by darkness like my OC Rena who is currently white due to past events)
