I remember you too! I have now 15 dolls with one on the way. I also sold/traded some and got others in that time. One of my dolls is a little cat!

I saw them and they are super cute. I fortunately already have a kitty doll (the one in the picture) that is an MSD, so I don't feel an itch to have another one.

I cant rember why I didn't want a soom doll...... do they have there logo on the back or the head instead of the inside?....they are verry cute.... (gos to look at collection)

I own 2 Soom dolls as does my mate. The company logo is in the inside of the head. I have the little unicorn girl and a big wolf boy.

hmmmmmm so maby I like soom to I loooved the little fox and bird. Good luck! And yes Soom does monthly dolls mostly. They have a few standard ones, but all the fantasy ones are monthly limited editions. I got mine second hand. One I paid $700 for (on layaway).

Yeah, the original monthly dolls that were released go for $1200+ at times. So I got a good deal on him for only $700.

dragon girl?....hmm I am not dold I dont like when people do to much to alter a doll cuz then its like not autetic any more it like damages it....my friend whats a doll to do his own face up and painting on...and it worrys me he ackts liek its some cheep paint by number kit for kids.....its not its a 300 dollar or more doll one false move and its ruined..... I am just not a bold person....I feel like doing stuff like that thow it looks awesome when you do it I swere I love frost.......... I fell liek I;d just make the doll worthless asied from posable emotional atachment....I dont feel comfadent enugf to try it.

I've heavily modified a doll before turning her from a sheep with paws into a unicorn with hooves. It was a lot of fun, but I wasn't too worried because I got her for free from a BJD store (JunkySpot) for being such a frequent customer in one year.

I wouldn't mod my $700 doll though, he's perfect just the way he is. I still need to paint a tattoo on his neck though, but first I need to finish some commissions. Hybriding dolls doesn't make them less valuable, like my first resin doll I hated her body but loved her head, so I sold her body and saved up for a new one and I like her tons better.

Also the paint does matter that you use to paint a doll. I personally don't use any acrylic paints, only chalk pastels and watercolors, and sealant of course. You need to protect the doll from staining after all or the value will go down... I've spent at least $500-600 over the years on materials. Mostly on sealant, I go through that like crazy!

I dont know what paints they use to do face ups...but I guess I am lucky to like all of the luts delfs um.....parts and stuff....thow to be honest the doll I won I am soso on on her lips.....I see like 30 -40 picks of her model type thow and they all look different in the picks like in some photos the lips look smaller more pressed into a kiss...the other look more like its just slightly open. I like photos people have taken of that motel more that the professionals photots on the site and thats rare for me >.>;;;....on the same token I do have a story for her when she shifts forms so she may git a 2nd head to show that hay some times I have cute littl ears..... I jsut hope her resen as as clean as it looked in the photo its risky seeing as age some times colors dolls different.....thats why i put mine away / strip um each time I am done playing with them to try and slow that process....pritty much she is a this got 2nd hand.

Having a second head is always fun, all my dolls only have one though two did come with sleeping heads. One I sold, the other is in a drawer.

I don't care for company face ups, no matter how pretty they are, I always do my own.

idk the co face up makes the doll more official to me some how.....as much as I like other people talent more....I would go out and buy a designer thing (docent normally do that any way only with theas dolls and vid games do I git expensive things) only to take a perming marker to it..... that what it fells like Id be doing its like writing you name on a Pokemon card it feels like a nono unless I can undo it with 0 damage to the doll..... but then if the face up is so easy to take off......I would worry evin more than I do now about ruenig them....\

I dont like people douting me.......so I am not trying to doubt people....its just...it feels like no one will bealeav its rilly what it is unless the co did everything for it....if I did it they would go eww and go it was poorly done or looks fake.....I dout myself most....thats why I dont like it when other do I do it enugf for everyone... I am not talted....I could not make a doll beautiful.....and if I send it off to have some one elce do it for me....I mite not like it. then what..... There are many types of collectors out there, some that like everything as is from the company (which is great) and those that like to customize the dolls (which is also great).

I do commission work all the time, painting dolls to bring the people's OCs to life. And it takes practice to get good at anything, I've been doing face ups about 3 years now, a little less. I practiced on my own dolls (most of them are characters of mine), and I redo their face ups from time to time when I feel a need to update them. You shouldn't doubt yourself so much, but it is quite the investment to do your own face ups. Most established face up artists have hundreds of dollars worth of supplies (I certainly do), but you do need to do research as to who you want to paint your dolls for you and what not.

Don't feel bad either about not being able to paint or make clothes for them. I can't make clothes or wigs, so I buy them, but I personally bond best with them when I paint them. The ones I've painted I have the hardest time letting go of, and my characters all are specific in my mind that I feel I have the skill to bring them to life that way.

I have a tablet for drawing, I've been using one since 2004 (though I upgrade every few years). They're fun, but it takes some getting used to with the whole looking at the screen rather than your hand for the drawing.

Don't push yourself to paint your dolls, if you like them the way they are leave them that way. I get most of mine blank, so I don't have to worry about cleaning them so I can paint their faces on.

I like to cosmise my dolls and yeat not with something that seems so permanent...like a face up >.<;; it seems like gambling ..... if it were a peac of paper sure Id be fine with learning ....its easily replaceable....not a dolls face thats to precious to risk >.< Id haf to be 100 % sure Id like what is done to it.... to let some one do it...heck its hard for me to sedel on a model...I feel bad when people sell heads lieke moths later cuz a newr one came out they like more....its morbid poor dear.... that how come I got gewn >.>;;

for me a doll is soooooo expensive from luts I serenely cant aford supply's for that and no dout expensive paints to....but as far as cloths go...I have alot of cloths I'v grown to fat for that I never worn because they were dress cloths....if I have donated them.... I cult tak e them apart for materials...I have atlest 1 sweter... and I have a sowing kit already...

um..... i just want to do something good for them is all they are specal...I git weird because they are now tangable to.... I treat their dolls like kids...liek my kids some times.....and it gits weird because the them in my heads arnt kids hehehehe. they pick on me all noooo I dont wanana dress as a teddy bare and junk and I am all tobaaaad.
