This was my contest entry to Linkin Park's "The Hunting Party" poster contest. It took me several hours to complete this and I was damn glad to be back on my friggin Photoshop, digital arting for ya'llz. xD
I began by taking notes of what Linkin Park was trying to aim for in their LPTV episodes and behind the scenes clips. I was aiming for a post-apocalyptic world-type feel. The overall picture was based off of Linkin Park's intentions to create an intense new album. The desolated city represents the song "Wastelands" and "Until its Gone". "Guilty All the Same" is represented by the dinosaur-like creature, which represents the guilt and shame that may have been left after the consequences of human sin. Linkin Park wanted a carnivorous sort of album that is placed within the midst of 'today's herbivorous music'. So the undead dinosaur represents that very type of music. Herbivorous music is like the grass under the streetlight. It has more light reflected off of it due it being more mainstream as of late. The fruit represents Linkin Park's uninterest of making more 'herbivore music', therefore being cracked open by an arrow.
