'Micromaster Transformers- theyyyy've got the power to surprise.'
Actually used some artifacts from my toybox as refferences here- and I gotta say, there's a lot of potential in the details. I mean, for toys that were never given characters or even individual bios- there's a LOT of individuality to these designs. I mean, there wasn't a SINGLE character from the cartoon in this line! That took some bawls, 198something Hasbro.
Maybe just another pipe-dream, but I feel like these guys never got a proper shakedown. The lack of badges and heavy weapons on most of them just screams 'i'm a non-affiliated civilian stuck on cybertron!' Something the current comics seem to be big on. Heh, NAILs. Plus, one would have free reign to write about characters that have yet to be established.
ALSO- I've been downright obsessive with the use of scale in Transformers. Their is, and SHOULD BE, a ton difference in size- and that should change the dynamics in how they interact. While i complain about how 'they' tend to standardize the scale of giant robots (someone who turns into an F15 should NOT be at eye level w/ someone who turns into a VW Bug!!) -the Micromasters are CLEARLY built to standard, near-human, size, but for a Reason! Because their robot forms are built to interact with smaller environments and possibly, with humans. Their vehicle forms are to small to fool anyone, so they're just built for mobility, not for disguise.
Also-ALSO... The microcircuitry used to develop the Micromasters could easily relate to the Great-Upgrade, between Autobots and Maximals! Heck, these guys could pass as pre-Beastwars Maximals!
Anyhoo, here's Free-Wheeler and Flat-Top. Ferrari and Phantom, respectively. (...Free Wheeler? THAT was his name all this time?? Sheesh, no wonder I could never remember it.) :P
both are Copyright Hasbro
