A mouthwatering burger from
!
Hi guys, I'm back again with another recipe! Why? Because people seemed to really enjoy my last one! I made homemade burgers for dinner tonight and thought I'd take some snaps and share the recipe with you. This one is just as easy as my Bacon, Onion and Egg Mini Pies, so get your ingredients together and let's get cooking!
JUST A REMINDER!
I am Australian, so slang/measurements/words I use may be different to you. I've gone out of my way to include as many 'translations' as possible, but I may still confuse you. Any questions, please ask.
SUPREME-O BEEF BURGERS!
Makes between 8-16, depending on how big you like your burgers to be.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 1 kilo of beef mince / 2 pounds of ground beef
- 1 packet of Hamburger Helper
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce / ketchup
- 1 medium onion, either grated or very finely diced
- 1 large or 2 small carrots, either grated or very finely diced
- 1 egg
- parsley, salt and pepper to season
UTENSILS AND THE LIKE:
- A barbeque or a grill
- A large mixing bowl, a knife or grater, chopping boards and a measuring cup
- Lots of soap; for this to be authentic, you need to use your hands! If you have kitchen gloves, you can wear those
METHOD:
- Pre-heat your bbq or grill if you need to, on a high temperature
- Put your beef into a bowl with the Hamburger Helper powder and the tomato sauce/ketchup and squish that gooey deliciousness between your fingers
- Toss the onion and carrot in and mix thoroughly
- Crack an egg into the centre of the bowl, swirling the yolk with your finger to break it up and then squish that in, too; lots and lots of mixing
- Finally, sprinkle a tablespoon of parsley, two teaspoons of salt and two teaspoons of pepper to season and give the mix a final stir
- With your hands, take portions of the meat mix from the bowl and roll it into a tight, neat ball before flattening it out; there is no uniform way to do this, you can make them as big or as small as you like
- Place the burgers directly on to the bbq or grill and cook for approximately 8 minutes, flipping once or twice
- Eat however you like!
In my burger buns, I've placed red onion, baby spinach and rocket, garlic mayonnaise and thick slices of cheddar cheese. However, you can put anything you want! Stop at nothing, try everything! You could add a fried egg, bacon, different salads and sauces, or even eat them on their own.
