First ever Nykin'le for auction!
Here we have a common Nykin'le (nai-kin-lay) of the blue and gold macaw type. This Nykin'le guards flocks of macaws of its type, and protects them from harm as best it can. Want more information on the Nykin'le? See below! This auction is set to end on Sunday, the 1st of June, at eight PM. Buyer will get the transparent version of the art (I actually have the transparent art this time, whoops), and the rights to this particular Nykin'le. :)
The base is a custom done for me by Nil; these lines will be reused to make other Nykin'le.

The Nykin'le are a "species" of fox spirit who dwell near certain areas that are considered sacred to them. Each Nykin'le is marked by the feather colours of a particular bird (or in very rare cases, a particular animal such as a deer or trout), and that type of bird species is often found in high concentrations around the Nykin'le's home. For instance, if you see an oddly large number of hawks, barn owls, or any type of bird around, you can be sure that a Nykin'le is there as well!
Nykin'le act as guardians of a particular bird species; if that species of bird dies out, so too do the Nykin'le who guarded it. Only one Nykin'le exists for each bird species. Anatomically, they appear as foxes with thicker, almost wolflike limbs, but their bodies are lithe and supple. Their wings are shaped like the wings of their bird - and atop their heads is a glowing lure, meant to guide the way in the darkness. Some humans have reported seeing will-o-whisps at night in varying colours, and have reported that they were guided home by these strange lights - these are the Nykin'le, helping them to find their way home and back to safety. Personality-wise, most Nykin'le are helpful, generous, and curious - if but a bit timid.
To date, only one human has ever seen a Nykin'le - but they say, if you leave food out for these spirits during the night, they will bring you good fortune and guard you from harm just as they do their flocks of birds.
