they do look similar, but that is probably cause of a similar colour scheme (both varying shades of blue and white) and they both the same species, but other then that, i don't see anything really similar

people will always keep saying that we are similar even though there is no actual similarities in our design. They are basically saying the KZK fox is Krystal essentially.

i still have some changes in mind, but yeah, there always will be. When I had my ref sheet done, people still believed me to be a rip off of the other.

They even targeted me in real life with my real life name. It really pissed my master off and he had all of those comments deleted off of his journal. I didn't get to see any of the message since i had work that day.

HOWEVER I wouldn't say you and SF Krystal have any more in common than say two humans of similar skin colour who happen to share a name, and yet we don't say they're ripping each other off

Sadly something I've found on the net is there will always be ignorant jerks who like to feel 'smart' by pointing out similarities and/or inspirations and labelling them as 'RIP OFF!' even though to some degree everything is part of a chain of inspirations/influences, sometimes stretching back HUNDREDS OF YEARS.

The main thing I'd like to say though is don't feel like you should have to change anything about your 'sona if it's just to please people who insist on comparing your Krystal with SF Krystal, only do it if YOU want to

Me, My character. A character I designed from a KZK fox, which I took original inspiration from the fox standing to my right. That old design i took from was one of my older submissions on my page. I had modified it just slight in the picture, but after a while, I needed to keep going and going, and this fox here is the result. I plan on changing her more still until she is perfect, but for right now, it's great. I love how she looks.

She does look really sexy!

Her body model is based off of my own body in real life. ass, hips, and legs. The stomach is soon to follow. The tits on the hand, not so much.

What about the bellybutton?

nah, afraid not. i'm iffy about getting any work done until i am fully sure, but as for that piercing, that will have to wait until i have lost all of my weight first.

Honestly, most of those differences won't be noticeable in different images simply because color hue can be very flexible. I've seen Krystal that vibrant of a blue before, not to mention same hair as yours. That, and I've seen countless versions of Krystal with the full white front torso and the black markings on the face in about the same place you have them. Aa someone seeing your character for the first time, the biggest difference I noticed was the 'foxgloves', as they tend to be called, darkening to black. The piercings are a give or take since, yep, saw enough pics with a pierced Krystal, though pics in the nude would make the lack of tatts obvious. The last isn't the best of arguments though since the people who Do rip off the design usually remove the tatts first and farmost, but it is what it is.

Ultimately though either people going to continue to claim your character is a rip-off or you'll change her enough that only a moron will make the comparison. It's not really anyone's fault. There are enough similarities between the two that so many people have pointed it out enough for this to be made, but at the same time this is your character and you like her enough as she is that these claims haven't been enough to push you to change her yet.

I know, but people make these creative swings with pretty much every character, and in my eyes, this is the KZK fox from second life, because it is. but artists creations have no hold on mine, since originally, the way Krystal is in this image is how the developers did her. Every other picture doesn't matter because that's the artist's depiction. that is their opinion. My character is my creation. I based her off of a simple blue skin that was bought for me in second life. A simple color alteration of their design they had of their KZK fox, nothing else. claim as much as you will, but what you comparing my character to is fanart, nothing more. I created this character. She is my design, point taken.

The problem is that reguardless how Krystal was originally developed, no matter how much that interpretation Should be what sticks out most in a person's mind, the fact is that's not what happens. Too many before you have found their own interpretation of Krystal and made changes similar to what you have for your character long before your character ever came to life. The beauty and annoyance of artwork is that even the most straight forward pictures are open to interpretation. Even this picture, as forthright as it is, could be interpretted as 'future Krystal'.

I'm not saying it's fair or right. There's a character I love to rp with, but because her looks were originally based off of a very popular artist's character, I've been hesitant to get any artwork of her until I can change her enough. Not am easy feat since I've been rp'ing with her for years and the palette consists of exactly two colors. But for me, personally, it's not worth the crap I'll certainly get from the artist's fans should I post her as is.

We can't control how people interpret what they see or what sticks in their minds or how they react. All we can control is our own reactions, be it to spend time and energy and, in this case, money to fight the nay-sayers, to ignore them and let the accusations fly, to change our characters enough that they can no longer be associated with the claims but possibly compromise our own wants, or... I don't know what else.

One detail might be working against you the most though. Your handle runs the risk of planting the psychologocal seed. It's like when you like a picture until a friend points out that the tail looks like a turd. Suddenly, as much as you want to escape it, you cannot unsee it. Now everytime you see that picture, the tail looks like a turd. There might be folks who click on a picture of your character, not at all making the comparison. Then they see your handle. Now they have Krystal on the brain, and all the various forms of fan art that have been made of her, including and perhaps especially the ones that closest resemble your design. Boom, cannot unsee.

I'm not trying to be a nay-sayer. Sometimes when we've had a character for so long, and watch them slowly change and grow over the years, it can be hard for us to see why comparisons could possibly be made to a character that wasn't even the source material. Experience has shown me that friends can be wonderful support, but useless when you need unbiased opinions. What I offer is simply an unbiased outsider's perspective, as one who hadn't seen your character before this picture. You're of course welcome to do with it what you will.

meh, i'd rather not change anything about who i am to please someone else. i've been doing that ever since I transitioned and i'm not doing that to my character who i've matched to who I am in real life. She has my personality, sexual needs, and looks physically. So in fact, everything that is her is me.

Sorry, couldn't help it xp I do understand. While Nite is my mascot, Laura is my fursona, specifically a munchkin kitty to better match my rl physical deformity and personality. I think I'd be just as stubborn if anyone gave me crap about her design.

you should see al of the removed comments that were on one of my master's journals. it's an old one, about two years old when we got our refs, and the furs had the gall to actually attack me in real life for the fact that i chose my real life name as Krystal. Oh no, blah blah blah. Fuck them. I hate furries for this very reason, because they don't know how to shut their mouths. That even my own identity was under question. I couldn't believe that. I had to go to work that day, so I was unable to see the rest of them, but they angered my master to a degree where he just removed everything.

sighs* humans are beyond ignorant an refuse to acknowledge an accept some will make things seem similar but really arnt because each person has their own uniqe taste an like...if it seems similar or close they will assume that its a rip on the spot because some souls have no imagination or Real thought nor take the time to Actually look at the differences..they see your sona then see krystal an immediately attack without doing their homework which is what i like to call common stupidity =,=
ppl told me all i did was dye tail's fur black chop a tail off an turn him half tech an grew out his hair...i battled this for years an the only way it actually solved itself was actually getting a Decent Reference done at the time an Building a in depth background story of him...shockingly enough...the attacks stopped but 1 kept on til i blocked him an said ok fuck it idfc =,= ppl are beyond my understanding sometimes i swear...

humans will always be hard to understand. I gave up trying years ago, and i am far better off not worrying about them. I am just focusing on my part, my piece of the pie. it's getting bigger and bigger as I expand my influence, and I am absolutely Loving the attention it gets me. <3

6 years worth of changes.

May have been six years but still looks worth the effort x3. Considered if I should make changes to mines.

Every change I made to my character was a result of my personality altering. the way my character looks now is close to how I wish to be in real life, piercings, tats, and all.
