Well, considering the fact that the position he held was by its very definition only available to those who would NOT do what he just did, I have to say that I feel this tory is bit less than realistic (giants nonwithstanding).

I hope it makes a bit more sense once you see the next two pages later today. I just felt Riley deserved a proper send off. His anger has dissipated now he's started to see things clearly. He also sees no way to change the current situation but remove himself from it.
