Indiana Kitty and the Temple of Really Big Hieroglyphs
Went to Egypt. Saw lots of temples and tombs and pyramids and mummies and treasures and camels and bazaars and hookahs and sand and where they filmed parts of Indiana Jones and stuff. Learned bits of the hieroglyphic alphabets (there are several).
Then I came home, and dragged
indigoangelcat to the new Indiana Jones movie.
Afterwards, COULD NOT PASS THIS IDEA UP.
So I chibified Indigo, dressed her like Indy, threw her into some vaguely-tombish surroundings and surrounded her with hieroglyphics. The text inside the cartouche reads "Indigo"; the gold letters read "Indigo Angel Cat".
From my notes, the feathers mean good luck/fortune and happiness in the future. The waves / flowing water means turbulent / difficult times in the past. The cobra means fierce and dangerous when crossed. The mouth denotes a love for food/drinks/talking. The vulture was the symbol of Upper Egypt and I think denotes power and bravery (in men) and beauty (in women), but don't quote me on that b/c my notes are illegible here.
Anyways. Fun with Hierogylphs. (My own name reflects past struggles/turbulence, good luck/fortune in the future, and an exceptionally dangerous temperment befitting my Sicilian heritage. Also, a love of good food and storytelling. :3)

Actually, went to Egypt as part of a community college trip earlier in May. Our guide passed a sheet around with the heiroglyphic alphabet, and I transcribed it into my notebook during a busride. (Also picked up a bookmark with an alternate alphabet variation at a papyrus institute, and a third at one of the bazaars.)
I'll poke around the 'net a bit and see if I can find a site for ya - or possibly post my notes later. (I'd love to get more info on the "meanings" of each heiroglyph, so trust me, I'll be looking!)
