Well, think about it. Most sports involve a lot of running and/or jumping:
Football: Running.
Baseball: Running.
Basketball: Running and jumping.
Badminton: Running, some jumping.
Tennis: Running, some jumping.
But bowling? Bowling involves picking up a ball, rolling it down a lane and seeing how many pins you knock over. In tournament bowling, the style used for most fursuit bowling, you then sit down and wait until your turn comes up again. This makes it perfect for people wearing such big, heavy costumes that extended exertion is out of the question.
