In a quiet and remote Shinto shrine, Haruka the Kirin sits, quietly contemplating life. She was seen as the Shrine's Kami, the Deity-like spirit that guarded and personified the area. She was known for her wisdom, her insight and her love of all those who approached. Those of good intent could always find their way to her shrine, and she always had an answer to their troubles. Haruka has always had a deep-seated love of humanity and therians alike, and she has always offered her lap to rest in, her shoulder to cry upon and her body to recover with. Her magic has always been strong, a healer and sage both, and capable of defending the shrine from those who would hurt it with little effort.

Haruka especially adores her Mikos, the Priestesses who serve the shrine and tend to it in her stead, offering them her greatest love to them, often bringing one to bed with her.

The greatest gift any person could receive from Haruka would be her blessing, a gift that would leave a person's body changed into what Haruka would call a divine form, male and female in unison, a hermaphrodite/futanari. Haruka greatly cherishes those who desire this gift, giving them the role of a personal handmaiden with no other stipulations save one, to worship her in return as much as Haruka worships them.
