(What follows is lore from Hawken and is basically Shaely's backstory)

Shaely Kai is a female tiger shark, and a former engineer for Sentium Corporation, she had a hand in designing mechs like the Assault and it's G2 variant, as well as designing helpful mech self repair systems. Tech and computers are her natural state of being, and there are very few mechs she can't fix. Now working with Jeff and his garage of mechs, she mainly maintains the fleet and tracks supply shipments, going to where the money is, and making sure the pilots who work with her come back safely. She is sometimes seen on the field in her personal mech, a modified Type-A Reaper, running as a scout sniper. Where she lacks skills in fighting on foot, her ability to seek and destroy enemy vehicles is illustrated well due to her knowledge of their inner workings.

Shaely was born just off the Mediterranean sea on Earth. She grew up in Italy, and then moved to America before joining Sentium and leaving Earth for the colonies.
