Don't you know that most dragons die from lancing, axing or swording, sideeffects of a human or dwarf infection in ones homecave?
It's a serious health and sanitation issue, I assure you!
But, anyway:
I love those stories where the Prince moves out to rescue the dragoness from the evil princess hands, or the princess to rescue the dragon from the mad prince's dungeons.
Likewise I love that story where canines are so successfull in domesticating humans that they run the risk of degenerating themselves.
Or the story where ...
Oh, wait, the latter story is what I am going to write...
=)
Humans are perceived by many intergalactic species as a infection that has to be contained.
Just imagine the fact that some humans use substances as seasoning on their food that is also used as a weapon and as a desinfectant to kill off other lifeforms.
Humans can eat almost anything, and survive in a wide range of natural habitats. And in cold ones they kill the native species and wear their skin as trophies all the time., sometimes even in warmer climates!
Humans have a lot of sports which center around hurting each other.
Given multiple options, humans normally decide for the option involving the most possible bloodshed.
Every generation of humans undergoes ( at least a partially ) training in a wide range of combat-styles.
Humans plan- and willfully destroy their own habitats and ecospheres, seemingly determined to try on how badly a destroyed environment they can still survive in.
Humans have more teeth than their jaws are capable to hold.
The solution most humans opt for to handle this situation is to bolt on steel and to force the jaws to accomodate.
Most weapon-capable systems humans design are not suitable to protect their habitats from existing dangers such as floods, droughts, meteorite impacts, and sunflares, but serve the purpose of killing either other humans or destroying their ecospheres / habitats.
Instead of using standard technology to do asteroid mining and ore processing in cislunar space, humans develop ever more sophisticated technologies to extract raw substances from their planetary ressources with large damages to the ecosphere, processing them under production of huge amounts of ecosphere-damaging sideeffects, and using these ressources then in a discardable fashion.
Humans can easily breed at a rate doubling their popualtion every 20 of their planetary years.
The lower the technology of a human group is, the higher their reproduction rate. The greater the population, their greater their rate of technological advance.
Accordingly ecosphere infection by pure, undomesticated / earth-type humans needs to be immideatly reported to the council and be contained.

*lifts a set of ancient handbooks*
When people would read more of the books than burning them or placing them under cabinets as stabilizers, it would be more widely known, and then maybe humanity would work on it to become less scary.
Guess why no mythological creatures live on earth anymore?
As sapients they were evacuated as fast as possible once human tendencies crystallized and humans prooved capable to surpass all terrain-provided borders.
The invention of the shoe, the sandal, spawned the last big exodus as with it humans became able to scale any mountain at a scaringly fast speed.
Only a few Yeti's are still locked up in a few spots on earth as since the last time the personnel carrier left with the sphinxes and the majority of dragons, humanity jumped from sandals and bronze weapons to nukes, lasers and radar.
