The little cob foal I went to look at on Sunday. In all seriouseness, if we can haggle her price down to a grand (or preferably under), then I am sorely tempted. To be fair she doesn't look much from this angle, but just see her in the field - and she has the sweetest nature.

Thank yeh. To be honest, it's just a picture of some Belgians that I pulled off of the net because I needed some sort of user pic :P. I absolutely love drafties. I hope you can get that filly, she's drop dead gorgeous. I adore blue eyes on horses. It's gonna be something I look for in my next horse. I currently have a 6yo Tennessee Walker that I raised up from a baby, and a miniature that I've had for a few years(and that just recently cost me about 3k in vet bills). I'd love to get a draft some time.
Whoa, your mini cost you that much in vets bills and you're looking for a draft? Brave soul! XD Can I ask what it was that cost you so much?
I have never seen a Tennessee Walking horse in real life, but from the photos I've seen, they look very beautiful. What are they like to ride?

Yeah, the poor little thing got pretty sick. Most of the vets I was working with told me it was a rather lucky and miraculous recovery and that with how bad off she was, it was only about half expected that she would make it.
Long story short is that she somehow got a rather extreme case of colitis that had spread into her intestine. She was rather light on her feet and not wanting to stand up, so I at first figured that it was founder and treated it as such. After no improvement was made, I called the farrier out and he informed me that there was no sign of founder at all and recommended a vet. I called the vet out, expecting him to tell me that there was some kind of mild infection or mild colic, but when he got out there he was rather concerned and recommended that I put her into the large animal hospital at Auburn University ASAP. I did, and she ended up having to stay in intensive care for 2 weeks, with IVs and constant care and everything. It was definitely expensive, but the result was positive, so I view it as money well spent. I would have been upset if I would have spent that kind of cash and she didn't make it.
Tennessee Walkers are an extremely smooth ride with kind of a strange feel to them until you get used to it. Most horses kind of have that up and down motion when you're moving along, whereas TWHs have more of a forward and back motion. It's neat, and rather pleasant :) They are a beautiful breed, but tend to have big ole' heads on them, lol. My TWH mare is a bright sorral color with flaxen mane and tail and a star on her head. I'd venture to say she's about 16 hands.
