Sweeeet. This is the first time I'v ever used the gradient tool in flash and the outcome was... Well, look at it! This is a huge leap in my artistic talent area. Okay, now for what Lucient means. Lu stands for Translucent and cient stands for sentient. Don't know why, but Lucient sounded cool when it was all put together. It's pronounced: (Loo-See-Ent) NOT (Loo-SHEE-Ent). I hope this gets me somewhere like in the featured art or maybe on the Front Page, because I worked my butt off on this. I made the original sketch (Which I will post later) at two in the morning and I went to bed at 4:30 AM. Took me a loooong time. And then I scanned in the little devil and put it into flash where I proceded to trace the lines with the brush tool and then paint it with gradients. Yum. It turned out great! The oranges were the perfect colour for Lucient. ^_^ I was thinking green (My favourite colour) but then I thought, "I have green in everything..." so I tried orange and I fell in love with it.
Now, you're probably asking, "WHAT THE HELL IS IT?!!" Well, I drew it using the art styles from Metroid Prime (Gamecube) and StarFox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet (Gamecube)and it's supposed to be one of the bosses. NO, I did NOT copy it! I made this up myself and I'm very proud of it. The creature I thought looked like a chicken or something, so I was originally going to call it, "CYBORG TURKEY" but that would be lame. So then Lucient popped into my mind and I was all, *LE GASP!* And so Lucient was born. ^__^ You'd better like it! Also, this started out as a freehand sketch with no wireframe. I started drawing and didn't stop until I had finished. No rulers, no protractors, no 3D software, it's all hand made by me. Also, all of the digital paint that went onto it in flash was all hand done. No software just poofed it on or anything. LIKE IT! LOVE IT! BOW DOWN TO LUCIENT!

HOLY! Taro... THAT IS AMAZING! I know you said that you did a new picture in flash and when you said you used gradients for the first time, I was all like... "Ehhh. Gradients are used pretty horridly by noobs." I wasn't expecting anything like this. I saw it and went "Wait, Taro did that!?!!"
It is absolutely beautiful! I can't believe that you pulled off something like this. A major improvement from any of your older works and this definitely HAS to go into your portfolio! They can't help but be impressed by something like this. You deserve a much better score too... +1 score
I love the entire design of your robot, and the name is just awesome! Works perfectly. It's kinda cute actually but so totally badass! Definitely works with the Metroid/Star Fox style you were going for I think. And I think you should animate it. That would be the icing on the cake. :3 +Favorite love
