Early the next morning Sammi once again stood outside the gates of the PCA waiting for her aunt to arrive. She’d finally managed to catch and beat on Petie enough to satisfy her pride, convincing herself she didn’t hit him as hard as she could cause it wasn’t worth it and not cause she cared or anything like that, and then endured the difficult task of sneaking her new clothes in past her roommate. Luckily she’d distracted Selena enough with questions about if she’d mind there being a pet in their room that Sammi was pretty sure the glaceon hadn’t seen the new dresses Sammi had slipped into her dresser drawers… at least that’s what the dratini hoped anyway.
Getting her mind back to the present though she looked up to the sky, wondering when her aunt would get here. She was curious what aunt Iris had planned for the two of them today.
“Ooooh Sammi~”
Sammi’s mood immediately soured as she recognized the voice and it definitely wasn’t her aunts… well not her aunt yet anyway. Shifting her gaze down from the sky to the sidewalk Sammi saw Georgia happily walking down the street towards her, the large goodra’s mass jiggling lightly as she moved. The large grin on the dragon’s slug was unwavering even under the daggers Sammi was glaring at her as Georgia walked up to the dratini and cheerfully looked down to her “Your aunt is a little busy with something, so we’re going to get to spend this morning getting to know each other~ Hope you don’t mind~” Georgia said as Sammi barely managed to hide a groan indicating that she DID mind… quite a lot actually.
Sammi’s feelings of mistrust and betrayal about a stranger becoming part of her family so suddenly still were simmering from yesterday which meant the idea of spending any amount of time getting to know her aunts new… partner was less than appealing to the dratini. She debated just turning around and going back to her dorm room… but then the annoying little voice of her conscious reminded her to consider what Aunt Iris would think of her if she did that. The feeling of guilt and shame slammed down on Sammi hard as she pictured how her aunt would react to her snubbing Georgia like that making the dratini let out a huffy sounding sigh before finally looking up at the goodra.
“… sure… fine… lets just get this over with…” she grumbled softly as Georgia extended her hand to the little dratini making Sammi just stare at it in disgust before the goodra chuckled “Don’t worry, I can keep the goo from dripping from my hands at least so you don’t have to worry about getting slimy again.” she reassured Sammi as the little dragon decided to not mention that goo or not the concept of holding the annoying lady’s hand was just disgusting in general to her, but it looked like she didn’t have any other options as Sammi reluctantly took the offered hand.
A few minutes later the two were walking down the street as Sammi noticed the slight squishing Georgia made with each footstep and wondered if the goodra was leaving a trail of slime as she walked. It probably was a speciest thing to think but honestly Sammi was annoyed and thinking bad things about the person who was annoying her was rather cathartic. “So… I hope your excited about being part of the wedding~” Georgia said, snapping Sammi out of her thoughts “Cause I’m quite excited about getting to meet all of Iris’s family, she’s told me so much about you all~” the goodra gushed as Sammi just snorted dismissively at that.
“Yeah, and I bet we’ll have to meet your family too right?”
“Oh heavens no, I don’t have any.”
“…… what?”
“Yep, not a single one.”
“Okay, hold up! How the heck can you not have any family!?” Sammi demanded, trying to dig her heels in and stop the two of them from moving… which in retrospect was like trying to stop a charging mamoswine by trying it up with dental floss. Fortunately Georgia was nice enough to humor Sammi and stopped to look down at the little dratini, same goofy smile still on her face “That’s a bit of a story little one, if you really want to know then how about we find a nice place to sit and then I’ll tell you the whole thing,” she offered, as Sammi glared at her.
“… call me little one again and I’ll smack your face in… but sure…”
“I’m sure you would~ Now then….. ah! There’s a little corner coffee shop.” Georgia said, pointing a little further down on the other side of the street before smiling to Sammi in a mischievous manner “Come along~” Before Sammi could try to protect herself from whatever the dragon slug was planning Georgia gave her a gently push on the forehead as Sammi found herself stumbling backwards… to sit on the goodra’s thick tail which Sammi clung to on reflex as she found herself riding it as Georgia happily strolled down the street to cross at the crosswalk. While Sammi blushed and fumed in embarrassment at this the whole way.
Luckily the walk was quick, quicker than if Sammi had walked herself much to the dratini’s annoyance, as Georgia walked into the outdoor area of the coffee shop and seemed to be considering which table to sit at. Meanwhile Sammi was doing her best to climb down off the goodra’s tail without slipping off the slick, squish surface and making a bigger fool of herself… “Sammi? Would you prefer a booster seat or not?” Georgia asked as the question was enough to distract Sammi and make her slip, landing on her tail. The fall wasn’t enough to hurt the dratini but her wounded pride stung terribly as she blushed and snorted… before admitting to the fact she hated “… booster seat…”
“Okay then, and are you okay?” Georgia asked, offering a hand to help Sammi get back up which the dratini promptly shoved away as she got back on her feet and dusted herself off. “I’m FINE.” Sammi pouted as she stomped over to the nearest table in a huff. A minute later Georgia set a booster seat in one of the chairs for her before setting into the other chair at the table, which Sammi had been sure would be too small for the goodra. Climbing into the booster seat Sammi glared at the goodra across from her, though a waitress asking what they’d like interrupted them before the goodra could start explaining.
“Oh, I’ll have a large ice tea please, sweetened. What would you like Sammi?”
“… just some juice if you’ve got it… Nomel please.”
Nodding the waitress finally left letting Sammi resume glaring at Georgia. “Well then… I assume you want the story now?” the goodra asked, unphased by Sammi’s glare “First I’d like to say you’re too little to hear all the details but I’ll tell you most of them… okay?” Sammi bristled under that phrase, she’d always known her aunt and parents left out parts of stories like this for the same reason… but getting told straight up front didn’t make it any better for her as she gritted her teeth and nodded. “Okay then, well the story starts like this…” Georgia said, leaning back in her chair “My parents were traveling crooks.”
“…. What!?”
“Yep… well, maybe not crooks but definitely conmen or doing SOMETHING illegal…” Georgia said casually as a flabbergasted Sammi just stared at her “My early life went a little like this… we’d settle down in some place, mom and dad went away during the day to do stuff and left the oldest of us kids to watch the rest of them or put us to work doing something to “help” the family… then a month or two later we packed up and hit the road again.” she explained before pausing to thank the waitress as she brought their drinks and then taking a long sip of her ice tea as Sammi sat there, left hanging and wanting to know more.
“… and!?”
“Oh! Right… well it was bad enough I pretty much never went to a formal school growing up… I was mostly taught by my older brother and any books I managed to sneak while nobody was looking.” The goodra continued, almost sounding wistful “I used to love sneaking into the local library of whatever place we’d decided to stop at and just read as much as I could… few times I got caught my dad whipped me. Apparently he didn’t like me being anywhere they didn’t know about… that and he didn’t consider reading to be useful for making money for the family so it made him even angrier at me. Course this was just how we did things so mom and my brother never stopped him…”
“………..”
“But anyway that went on for years and to be honest? I HATED it… really just hated it. I hated having to move constantly. I hated not getting to know any of the places we moved to. I hated not getting to have any friend. I hated how all we were supposed to do was work to make money for the family and if we didn’t we got beaten… just all around hated it.” Georgia said, ticking off each thing with her fingers “So finally when I was 18 I decided I’d had enough of it. I can still remember it clearly…it was raining and we were about to pack up and leave Blackthorn city. I told dad that I was sick of this and sick of this kind of life and that if they wanted to move away again then they could do it without me… I was so in the moment I didn’t even realize I’d evolved…”
“…. Then what happened?”
“They left without me, haven’t seen nor heard from them since.”
“… what!? B-b… but… they… t-they’re your family… th… that…”
“Sammi… you’ve been blessed with a family that loves you dearly, this might surprise you but not everyone is so lucky.”
Sammi was pretty sure you could see the sparks firing off her head as her brain shorted out trying to understand what she’d just been told. Her family was incredibly tight-knit (well as close as that could be with only three real members outside of her) and supportive… so the idea that family members could do ANY of the things Georgia mentioned to somebody they shared blood relations with was almost too much for the dratini to comprehend. Moreover there was one thing that just made the thing too surreal for Sammi to even begin to understand as she finally managed to articulate her confusion into words.
“W-why… why the hell are you so damn cheerful!?”
“Well to be honest I’m pretty sure I have some extent of psychological damage… that and if I’d let myself break down and cry back then I’d probably have never gotten back up.” Georgia said in a light, matter-of-fact tone before taking another long sip of her ice tea “I’m not going to pretend that things were easy for me after I did that, in fact they were downright brutal, but I don’t regret my decision at all.” She continued as Sammi just stared at her in utter confusion “You see Sammi, even if it was hard I gained a couple things I’d have never had if I hadn’t stood up to my parents like that… I gained a place I called home, Blackthorn city namely, and I gained the freedom to live my life the way I saw fit.”
Looking down at Sammi the goodra’s happy, cheerful smile slowly became warm and slightly affectionate “And I happened to be lucky enough to meet your aunt and fall in love with her… and now she’s letting me become part of your little family… if you’ll be willing to give me a chance of course.” she added, waiting for Sammi to respond. The little dratini sat there numbly though, she prided herself in not being as stupid or childish as she looked (unlike a few members of her team) but she couldn’t help but feel small and overwhelmed by all that she’d just been told. As the gears in the little dratini’s head spun so fast they were in danger of being sent flying all Sammi could manage to come up with to say was one single question…
“… so I won’t have to be a flowergirl?”
“Nope, you won’t~ The wedding won’t be nearly big enough to justify having one… unless you have some friends you’d like to invite of course.”
That got an immediate reaction from Sammi as she went stiff for a second then coughed and looked away, doing her best to pretend nobody popped into her head at that question “… nope, sorry but can’t think of anyone.” She said, though Sammi was rather annoyed to see the look on Georgia’s face which said the goodra didn’t buy that statement at all. The two sat in silence for a few minutes, Sammi doing her best to ignore Georgia’s attempts to restart the conversation, as they finished their drinks. A few minutes later, after Georgia paid for their drinks, Sammi found herself being led down the street by the hand again… which was still preferable to riding but left the little dratini curious about something.
“… so… where are we going now?”
“We’ll you won’t have to be the flower girl… but it’d still be nice if you dressed up a bit~”
“… and?”
“Well Iris found the little local shop that specializes in children’s clothes and does tailoring so we thought it’d be nice to see if they could make something for you~”
“… children’s shop?” Sammi said, her tone suggesting she’d sooner jump off a cliff then go into some shop for stupid brats to have to be measured for a dress. “Yes…” Georgia said, smile not faltering as she looked down at Sammi “Of course… we could try to find something nice and already made in your size but most of the fancier dresses that small ARE flower girl outfits so…” she trailed off, a slight mischievous look on her face as what she meant dawned on the little dratini… as she puffed her cheeks out in annoyance and huffed, her pride making the dratini unwilling to concede defeat like this.
Suddenly Georgia stopped, making Sammi bump into the goodra’s thick leg… which was too soft and squishy to hurt more than the dragon’s pride as Sammi stumbled back rubbing her nose. Following Georgia’s gaze Sammi found herself looking up at a one story building that looked pretty much like any other little shop she’d seem in Viridian… maybe a bit bigger than the others but Sammi really didn’t care enough to compare. The building seemed boringly normal outside having a forest color scheme and a window display of toddler and kindergartner clothes that made the dratini cringe. She glanced up at Georgia as the goodra smiled back down to her and spoke in a gentle tone.
“So… willing to give this place a try or should we see about those other outfits?”
“......... fine, but don’t expect me to like it.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it~ Now come along.” Georgia said, her chipper tone more grating to Sammi then ever as she led the dratini into the store. The old fashioned bell attached to the door sounding like it was signaling doom to the little dratini as they were greeted by three smiling bug types.
*******************
The inside of the store was just as bad, no… it was WORSE than the outside, at least to Sammi. The whole place was forest themed with the walls painted to go along with that and the whole color pallet making Sammi think of some kind of kindergarten show. Racks of clothes that looked suited for Petie, Jules, or Andrew were everywhere along with various toys, and the whole place seemed to reek of baby powder… which she could recognize easily after having to be around Petie and his stupid diapered ass so much.
They were pretty much immediately greeted by three bug ladies, a butterfree, masquerain, and leavanny, who’d apparently been expecting them. Apparently Iris and Georgia had set up an appointment for this yesterday. The two butterflies (That’s what masquerain was right? Sammi never really could figure that out) spent a few minutes just gushing over the little dratini and talking down to her like she didn’t understand what they were saying, while Sammi clinched her little fists in rage and resisted the urge to hit them, before talking with Georgia about Sammi like the dratini was a little kid. Naturally this had Sammi in a frothing rage she barely managed to contain… but they weren’t the worst thing.
No, it was the leavanny that made Sammi want to scream as the mantis eagerly took the dratini’s hand and led her through the various racks of clothing through a little curtained doorway into what had to be the back of the store. Before Sammi could figure out what was happening she found herself standing on a little stool as the bug was all over her, taking measurements and cooing at Sammi the whole while she took them.
"Arms up pretty one, don't resist and you'll soon be the belle of the ball~ who am I kidding, cute angels like you are always the belle of the ball~"
“D-don’t call me p-pretty!!” Sammi squeaked in protest at that comment as she tried to squirm… before letting out a rather embarrassing squeal of surprise as she found the bug easily slipping the little dratini out of her clothes. Sammi tried to thrash about to stop this but found herself in just her pale pink panties so fast she barely knew what’d happened. Then before she could even begin to regain her composure or try to run the leavanny tugged something up onto her and made sure it fit snug. Looking down Sammi’s cheeks went bright pink in embarrassment as she found herself sporting a snow white leotard that hugged her form and somehow made her look even more like a little girl.
"Awww~ you're just radiating cuteness~” The bug said, gently patting Sammi’s bottom as she smiled at the little dratini “Such a natural grace~ I bet you could sell out whatever you wore if you took a walk on the catwalk~” she cooed as Sammi squeaked and held her bottom to try and shoo the leavanny’s hands away. The dratini’s face going bright pink and scrunchin up in anger and embarrassment... which unfortunately just made her look cuter 'Stoppit!!!" Sammi shouted, trying to ignore how much like Petie her protests were sounding at this point.
Ignoring Sammi’s protests the bug continued to work “You’re so cute that you could've gone to any deadbeat tailor on the back alleys and still look precious in whatever they put together~” she said as she pulled Sammi’s arms through some cloth despite the dratini’s attempts to squirm away and sewed it up in the back to keep it there as Sammi realized it was a small blouse “... oh and please don't go around calling grownups 'deadbeat', your auntie might frown at that, okay?" the bug added, the adult-to-small-child-tone starting to grate on Sammi, as the leavanny effortlessly stitched some shoulder ruffles onto the blouse already making it frillier then Sammi liked.
This just got worse as the bug pulled out a long length of almost transparent wavy white silk and delicately wrapped it around Sammi’s waist before pinning it in place creating a wavy, see through skirt that didn’t even reach the dratini’s knees. Sammi would have screamed in protest but was cut short as she found herself gently pulled up onto her heels by one arm as the bug spun her like a ballerina. The leavanny used each rotation the dratini made to expertly wrap another layer of the silk around her, pinning each in place and giving the skirt more volume.
Even worse the bugg was humming a soft, bouncy song that Sammi recognized from one of the VHS her dad had for her to watch when she was little. It was the fairy tale one where a bunch of rattata and pidgey helped make a dress for Cinderella and sang while they did it… the sheer shame of recognizing the tune kept Sammi from struggling as the spinning finally stopped with the wavy, ruffle like skirt being five layers thick. Some plain white silk like the stuff her leotard was made out of made a top layer completing the look of something like a fancy, ruffled tutu. Sammi was mortified as she looked at herself in the nearby mirror. The thought that this might be karma punishing her for teasing Petie & Jules about going to ballet crossed her mind briefly.
Sammi squeaked as the bug suddenly lifted her up under her armpits like a toddler, leaving the dratini’s legs and tail dangling, before gently setting her back down on the stool in a sitting position. Grabbing what looked like a pair of silk white stockings the leavanny smiled to Sammi "Hold still and don't kick, dearie, good girls know better than to struggle~ I need to make sure these stockings are your size, okay?" which was all Sammi need to hear to start squirming as much as she could as the leavanny struggled to get the stockings on her legs. Despite Sammi’s best efforts though the bug seemed more amused than upset by this.
"What a squirmy little one~ You're reminding me of a girl I had to make a dress for this morning, she just wouldn't let her mommy change her diaper and kicked and kicked a lot just like you're doing~ I still have to make up my mind on which one of you two is cuter when doing that~"
That comment was enough to make Sammi stop struggling immediately and blush bright pink in embarrassment. Taking the opportunity the leavanny easily slid the stockings up Sammi’s legs and adjusted them for a moment to make sure they fit right. Looking down at them Sammi cringed as she saw they had pearly colored flower embroidery on them… as the leavanny started to sew matching ruffles onto the top of each stocking. By the time she stopped the stocking openings looked like elaborate flowers… and since they came up to just below her knee it meant the stupid tutu wouldn’t do anything to hide them. Groaning inwardly Sammi couldn’t help but wonder if this could get any worse… then frantically mentally prayed no legendary happened to overhear that thought.
Confirming that at least one legendary with a sick sense of humor had heard her the leavanny gently tickled Sammi’s feet before slipping a pair of silver colored little girl shoes on her feet. Sammi wasn’t very knowledgeable about but they were the little rounded shoes that fashioned with the little strap at the base of the ankle… and were adorably demeaning. "It's no glass slipper, but you are definitely a Cinderella~ wish we hadn't run out of blonde wigs, I'd have loved making one for you~" the leavanny cooed as Sammi’s hands shot up to cover her bald head of reflex “No wigs!” she protested, blushing red and giving a feeble an adorable glare. The leavanny giggled at this before effortlessly picking Sammi up under her armpits again "Didn't say you needed one, silly~" she teased before setting Sammi in front of the mirror and letting the dratini see what had been done to her.
Looking at the dress-up doll she’d been made into in sheer horror Sammi didn’t see the next torture coming until it was too late as the levanny brought a broad, pearl colored ribbon around Sammi’s waist to hide the bottom of the blouse and pinned it just tight enough it was mildly uncomfortable for the dratini. "We're not done yet~ Let's amp up your cuteness - if that is even possible - what's a pretty dress without pretty ribbons~?" the bug cooed as she tied the ends of the new sash belt into an incredibly large and obvious bow now sitting cutely right over Sammi’s bottom as the dratini just groaned inwardly.
"That was the big one~ now for the little ones around 'em~" the bug cooed as she produced smaller ribbons, the same color as the big ones, and started to attach them as little bows to the chest of Sammi’s blouse. "You could pretend these are all little fairies~" she cooed teasingly as Sammi shuddered on reflex and shook her head as she mumbled weakly “No fairies…” It was silly but since her village was dragon type exclusive fairy types were the local boogeymon and monsters in their stories and Sammi still had a small, silly fear of that type to this day… though she’d sooner jump off a cliff then let anyone at school find out.
Not missing this reaction the leavanny gave her a gentle smile "...or since you don't like fairies, you can pretend they're little bugs, bugs are cuter anyway don't you think?" she asked, giving Sammi a teasing wink as she finished sewing the two bows onto the blouse. They were about chest height and added a small touch of daintiness to an already, in Sammi’s opinion, overly done and overly frilly dress… but it looked like the leavanny wasn’t done quite yet.
In one last flurry of motion the Leavanny added what were apparently the last touches to the outfit. A pair of frilly little cuffs around Sammi’s wrists, a bow set just above each of Sammi’s head fins with the ribbon ends streaming down each side of her head cutely, and lastly a large ribbon tied in a bow on her tail with a large, premade silk flower set in the middle of it. Sammi looked at her reflection in the mirror in shame… with her cheeks still bright pink from blush she looked like all she was missing at this point was a basket of flower petals. She was starting to wonder if trying to find a premade outfit in her size would have been the better choice…
"Awww~ I bet we'd be swarming with customers if I got a wax doll of you in that dress~ Aren't you just sooo adorable~? Bet your auntie will think the same~"
"I do~ She's absolutely precious~"
Sammi whimpered softly as a soft squishing sound singled Georgia's approach as she appeared next to the Leavanny in the mirror "This is wonderful work~" the goodra gushed, smiling to the bug type before kneeling down to gently fuss over Sammi as the dratini fidgeted and squirmed lightly. “Thank you! Now it just needs a few more stitches to pull it all together before it’s finished~” the levanny said as Georgia nodded in agreement as Sammi just stood there glumly, realizing her torment wasn’t over. Then the levanny leaned over and whispered to Georgia, apparently assuming Sammi couldn’t hear them “I’ll make sure the dress is extra durable, your niece is precious but kids will be kids after all~” which made Georgia giggle and comment “Yes, Sammi can be quite spirited when she’s in the mood~”
Sammi just groaned and hung her head in embarrassment, wondering how this day went so very wrong. Suddenly the butterfree from earlier fluttered into view and slipped a white and peach colored bunneary plushie into Sammi’s hands as the dratini accepted it, too surprised to refuse. There was a soft gasp from the leavanny as she suddenly cried out "Nelly! That's too cute~! How am I gonna focus now~!?" while the butterfree, apparently named Nelly, just gave her a light chiding look before replying "Come on, Lala, think of how the little one feels, where's your sense of duty?"
"Hmmm, you got a point...we do have more of those in stock, right?"
"Just the one with the lopped ears"
"Miss Precocious? I can live with that~!"
With that the butterfree knelt down and smiled to Sammi, who was still utterly lost as to what just happened "Forgive auntie Lala, sweetie, she can get a little excited about her work but that means she adores you. Think of it as a compliment.” The butterfly said before gently patting Sammi’s head and then the bunneary plushie’s head “Anyway, I hope you like that little company, this bunny saw you a little sour and wanted to put a smile in your cute face~" she finished making Sammi just blush even more before a gentle nudging from Georgia reminded her what she was supposed to say.
“T-thank you?”
“You’re welcome dear~”
*******************
Finally after what felt like hours Sammi’s tortures were over and Georgia led her by the hand out of the store, the goodra’s other hand holding the bag with the dratini’s finished dress in it as well as the little plushie friend she’d been given. Sammi was pretty sure smoke had to be billowing off her head for the sheer amount of embarrassment she just had to endure and the amount of anger she’d had to keep suppressed. She was almost hoping some stupid idiot would come by to try and pick on her just to give her something to beat up on and get her anger out… maybe that larvitar brat that tried to bully her once or twice before she smacked the smug look off his dumb face… beating him up had been remarkably relaxing…
“How about we go back to the hotel room now Sammi? Iris is probably back now and I bet she’d love to see your new outfit… that… and I think she might just have a surprise for you~”
“Huh?” Sammi blinked as Georgia said that, the goodra giggling playfully at the end of it. A surprise? To be honest knowing her aunt Sammi was pretty sure it could be almost anything but the little dratini found herself wondering if this had to do with why her aunt had been busy this morning… either way she found Georgia leading her in the direction of the hotel they’d been staying at. Meaning Sammi would find out what this surprise was soon enough…
*******************
“Eeeehehehe! S-stoppit! T-that tickles!”
“D’aaaaaaaw~ I think he remembers you sweetie~”
Sammi could respond to her aunts cooing as she was currently flat on her butt with the little, respectively since he was still pretty big compared to her, furfrou puppy from yesterday propping it’s paws up on her as it happily licked her face to greet her. To be honest Sammi didn’t even care her aunt and Georgia were watching her as she happily wrapped her arms around the little furfrou and nuzzled him, the puppy yipping happily as his tail wagged. Relaxing her grip a little to try and get up Sammi got to watch the little puppy happily run in circles around her as she got a better look at him.
As usual for a puppy he was smaller than a full grown furfrou with short limbs and a big head, proportional anyway, and he was ungroomed sporting the thick, white, fluffy coat all furfrou’s naturally have. In fact his looked a bit fluffier than normal. His most distinguishing feature were the fact he hadn’t quite grown into his long ears yet (or they’d outgrown the rest of him) meaning they flopped and bounced as he ran before one bounced in the way of his foot causing the puppy to step on it and slip going into a tumble which landed him flat on his back at Sammi’s feet.
Laying there the puppy whimpered, probably due to pain from stepping on his ear, the tumble, or both, and looked up at Sammi with big, sad eyes. Without hesitation, though VERY glad nobody other than her aunt and Georgia were around to see this, Sammi knelt down and cuddled the little puppy before giving him a gentle tummy rub. Immediately the puppy resumed happily wagging his tail and making happy whines of pleasure at the tummy rub, earlier pain forgotten completely.
“Soooo… what are you going to name him?”
“… I get to keep him?” Sammi asked in surprised bewilderment as she looked up at her aunt, who gave her a soft smile and nodded. Sammi blushed furiously at how stupid and childish that question had sounded, even as she snuggled the happy puppy close “But…” the dratini said hesitantly “… I don’t have the money to care for him…” as painful as it was to admit that was the blunt truth. She got into the academy on a mix of scholarship and an outreach program due to her village qualifying for those like some foreign countries without great education did… which was a degrading enough fact she did her best to hide it. Bottom line was her allowance was poor and she mostly got by with bumming money from friends and trying not to need stuff.
“That’s what Iris was busy doing this morning little cutie~” Georgia cooed, giggling a little as she hugged Sammi’s aunt who in turn hugged the goodra back. Only her confusion at what was just said kept Sammi from looking away since seeing her aunt being affectionate with a stranger was still an… uncomfortable sight to the dratini. Luckily Iris took over the explanation as she smiled down to Sammi “You see sweetie I set up an account for you at a local bank, you can use the money in it to pay for your puppy’s food, health care, supplies, grooming… you get the idea, and I’ll put a bit more in each month too so you’ll be able to take care of him just fine~”
Sammi blushed at her aunt’s cooed words, understanding the implied “The money is only for spending on your puppy” message in what she was saying too… though it was unnecessary. The idea of disobeying or betraying her aunt like that was as unthinkable to Sammi as doing the same to her mom or dad was. Either way she blushed as she realized her aunt had gone to a lot of trouble to set this up “T-Thank you auntie…” she said softly, cuddling the furfrou close and blushing all the way to her fin tips as both Iris and Georgia cooed over how cute she looked.
“Now then… what are you going to name your new friend sweetie?”
“U-um… I’m gonna call him… Ace. You’re Ace now, you like that?”
“Yip yip~!”
“I think he like it.”
“That’s wonderful dear… now… can you show me how the dress you and Georgia got looks on you~?”
“Awwwwwww, auntie do I have too?”
“Pleeeeeeeease?”
“… fine…”
*******************
“D’aaaaaaaaaw~ Sammi you look absolutely DARLING~”
“Told you she did~”
“…… I feel like one of those stupid overdressed dolls Kimmie liked so much…”
Standing there in the overly frilly dress the stupid Leavanny made Sammi just pouted as her aunt looked her over, gushing about every little frill on the stupid thing and making Sammi just feel that much sillier looking. They’d even made her hold the stupid bunneary plush just cause they said it completed the look! Sighing in frustration and looking away Sammi saw Ace eyeing her in confusion. The little puppy trotted back and forth looking her over in the new outfit before whining and putting his head down, covering his eyes with his paws. Sammi couldn’t surprise a giggle at this as she smiled.
“Couldn’t agree with you more there boy…”

PCA - Auntie Dearest Dragon
A Day with Georgia Early the next morning Sammi once again stood outside the gates of the PCA waiting for her aunt to arrive.
The End.
