I don't see a lot of those drawn here. I want to see more different breeds than common one.

Me too! So many people make up similar dog breeds, and I ain't got nothing against it, I love all dog breeds. But I enjoy more obscure ones, I mean, you don't see lots of shelties, basenjis, smooth collies, afghan hounds, or belgian tervurens, which I have many characters of. I love various dog breeds…. though as far as common ones go dobies have a special place in my heart.

I love Golden Retrievers, German Shepherd, Pitbull Terrier, Akita Inu, Smooth Collie, Border Collies, Doberman Pinchser, Huskies, Malamutes, etc. Big Dogs are love

Basenjis and Shibas are pretty much on an equal level of awesome for me. I LOVE their personalities - definitely some of the more memorable dogs that I've worked with. flkdjfldkjflkdjflkdjf

They are just so amazing aren't they? Basenjis are such unique dogs, they have this quiet shy personality yet at the same time obviously love their owners to no end. I also love the fact that they do not bark but just yodel. I haven't had much experience with Shibas, but when I worked as a vet tech I met quite a few and they were always the sweetest but a little standoffish at the same time, like "hey, are you cool? you better be or I will not grace you with my presence"

What's amusing is that I've only known one shy basenji (she would tolerate your presence but generally didn't want to be touched by anyone aside from her owner - BUT SHE LOVED PUGS - THEY WERE LIKE HER FREAKY FETISH) and all the others have been really outgoing, full of personality, and loud (lots of yodeling all of the time). Although they are totally different in terms of domestication - they have a spunk that reminds me of shibas. It might be because I like the breeds so much that I haven't seen a lot of the really standoffish ones and that they've generally been super friendly and outgoing with me. Dogs have this tendency to flock to me - I think they can tell how socially awkward I am. X3

Dogs (and pets in general I guess) are one of the only things that I can talk about FOREVER and that my social anxiety will generally subside for so you can talk about them to me anyyyyyyyyyyyyy time. Also, I know you have a love of collies so I thought you'd enjoy knowing we recently rescued a border collie mix. He's a brilliant but totally neurotic terror.

Oh my god you did?!?! That is so amazing ;____; My Uncle has a border collie mix, and she is 16 and still kicking it and chasing her balls and running around even if she can't hear as well anymore. I swear mix breeds live so much longer than pure breds. I lost my shelties at ages 10, 13 and 14, it was so, so hard. But dude a little tangent on pugs, when I worked at the animal clinic there was this one pug that loved me. I mean. He loved me. His name was Snoop Dogg (how fitting) and every time I picked him up on the table horrible doggie boner touched my arm and I had to keep a straight face with the owner standing there and my vet Dr. B would just look at me and grin. OH GOD PUGS WHY they attract so many creatures!

I would love to meet some basenjis that are more outgoing. Once in NYC when I was walking with Angel to a show I saw a guy walking 2 across the street right near the Filmore. I fucking bolted across the middle of the busy street and ran up to this guy like "OMG YOU HAVE BASENJIS" I know he must have thought I was crazy but I did not give a fuck.

Yeah, he's a little bit over a year old and he basically looks like a miniature border collie. We're pretty sure he's one of the more recent sport/agility designer breeds because he is either mixed with sheltie or papillon. He doesn't have a clue how to settle himself though and is literally moving around until we put him and his housemates to sleep at the end of the night - so we're trying to work on that a little bit. I totally agree about the mixed breeds - most that I've ever known really outlive the purebreds. I don't know if it's because people aren't breeding for function as much anymore or what but either way it's sad. :<

And ffjfjfjfjffff - that's a pug for you. I love pugs (see? I'm doing it again). I would love nothing more than to have one of them when I'm old and retired or whathaveyou that just rolls around like a happy jelly bean snortling everywhere.

I'll have to go through some of my really old pictures and videos from when we worked in NY. I'm sure you would love some of the basenjis that we worked with.

Oh gosh I SO would!!! I remember y'all working there, I even remember wandering by your job one day during a visit, I believe it was when LeLee was there? Or perhaps Ols, my memory is fuzzy. But I'd love to see any pictures you have of them! And omg yes pugs, Chiv has one and I have always loved that dog. So sweet, loving, shorty and snotty which just adds to the cute all at once. She would play with Chiv's big black labs and was always the boss despite her little size!
