Back in the Jurassic (and all those other -assics) period, life must really have been fearful with things like that running about. Got to wonder if Humanity could have ever gained a foothold, had those things survived.
On the playful side, I'm sure that somebody...somewhere...has made a great attempt at recreating something like that in some oversized basement. Surely an expensive project. Oh, but what fun if it could be done right. Especially if it had an extensive array of mechanics that could safely move about. Rubberized teeth, a must.

When in a fandom where suits can run over a thousand dollars before all the options are tacked on...
Besides, it all depends on how cleaver, skilled and thrifty you are in making such a creation. I could most certainly see a 3-D printer being very useful.
