The Alexander Schleicher ASK-21 is the school glider of my club. This is on this device which I fly and which I take the commands for the first time, I was just come back on the ground when I took this picture. Look at the beauty of the sun on the canopy....

Is true, I'm a student glider pilot but I will not lie, the first reasons which push me to choose the glider were economics and a great desire to fly! And like I often heard, when you fly with an aeroplane, you always heard the noises of the money bank; it's fills when you're pro but it's empties when you're not pro.
I also heard that you can find yourself flying with birds in updrafts, this is certainly very beautiful and a unique feeling!

I just went to see where you fly and I think you've got beautiful landscapes there, personally, I find every landscapes beautiful from the sky (and from the ground too but more from the sky) but my aera of flight is just cultures fields (and unlucky not like British fields), towns, some trees, a nuclear power plant, a ugly railways in construction and military shooting area. My flight area is just flat and the Atlantic is at more of 100km from my airport well I stay over my colza fields but is great for beginning. One of the guy of my club went until the Mont Saint-Michel with a glider from my airport, that do near of 300km for go there and the same for come back, but with the ASK-21 that should take near of 3h at a speed of 90km/h and when you made a straight line (This is impossible with a glider ^^).
From my side I'm flying at Poitiers in the western of France.

We've got an european contest on my airport to. But me, I just began to fly and I just have got 1 hour of flight on my active but that was so magic! I really like how my monitor had said to an ATR-42 to make a touch & go because we must land, I just couldn't imagine the head of the pilot or to the passengers on board when they saw the glider of 17m with a pilot and a student pilot prevent the landing of a bi-engine of 25m and near of 40 passengers.
Here is an example of what kind of landscapes I can see from the sky: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13509799/
