I brought a coyote out of retirement to have a bit of fun in Las Vegas.

yes.
my original intention was that when I felt confident my skills could match the original Halloween 1996 creation (which I had some help with), I would rebuild him. With Twilight (2008) and PolkaDog (2009) I felt I'd met that standard. In 2011 I retired the suit, specifically at the Pie-asco at the Ocean City Doodah parade, as I wasn't sure he would quite survive. He survived fine, and officially retired a couple weeks later. The intention was to redo him and redebut the suit at Halloween 2011, which would have been his 18th birthday.
Life kept getting in the way. Summer 2011 I had shoulder surgery and moved to a new house, and since then it's mostly been trying to recapture my muse.
I've "un-retired" Yippee for a few appearances: FC2013 for a group photo of seven of my suits, FWA2013 as the Guest of Honor, and most recently did a few touchups to get the original suit wearable again at ESG2014: new eye screens, fix the jaw (which contributed to some ventilation problems), and add new cheek ruffs.
Yippee will be 18 this Halloween. I hope to have made a new coyote by then.

So was the wind blowing, or did the photographer happen to get you in high-speed motion? The folks in the background seem unaffected, but the palms could kinda be, so, I dunno!
[I still need to reply to your note, by the way! Been keeping busy, with a lot of other things besides work.]
