Already covered in James Thurber's classic version of "Little Red Riding Hood." If you're not familiar with it, I recommend it to you.

Having said that, I'd prefer C also.

My vote C.
but I would like to see my favorite "little Red Riding hood" version D
or D-V2

D = Red and the wolf become mates (in some of those stories Red becomes a werewolf).
D-V2 = The wolf is a life long friend of the little girl.
