A monster of folklore - the llamapishqu roams the arid and mountainous regions of Patagonia and the Andes.
It is a restless spirit manifestation that finds the nests of ground-dwelling birds and devours the souls of the unhatched chicks.
These eggs generally never hatch, though the birds within are technically still alive, for a while afterward. But rarely, if one of these eggs is left undisturbed for a year, a new llamapishqu will grow and hatch instead.
...
In case it needs saying, i made this up :P The name is bastardized Quecha.
A llama with the legs of birds and horned, skull-like birdheads where wings would be. And extra ears i guess because why not! I think it has cockatrice-like stoning/paralytic gaze, too. Maybe that's what the four bird eyes are for. Otherwise Rheas would probably beat the crap out of it!
I was sitting in
hanmonster's stream tonight and was sort of inspired to create an improbable monster, and so this was hatched. BTW, Hanmonster is awesome and you should watch her if you're not!
